Garifuna news - Aftrap zeventigste verjaardagtour Jan De Smet

The Bonnie Blues swingt en zingt driestemmig.

Met: Jan De Smet (zang, diverse instrumenten), The Bonnie Blues (Nele Paelinck, Laura vanden Heede, Juno Kerstens - zang, viool, accordeon, gitaar, cello, contrabas), Les Guitares Magiques (Raf Timmermans, Gijs Hollebosch, Mathias Moors - diverse snaarinstrumenten), Stoy Stoffelen (drums, percussie)

Even voorstellen - It it anita - Psychorigid single

Belgian noise rock tornado with a fearsome live reputation, It It Anita is ushering in a brand new era with “Mouche.” The quartet has transformed into a power trio, placing efficiency at the core of their art, and delivering an album of unapologetic freedom. As Michaël Goffard (vocals/guitar) emphasizes, “It’s not that we don’t care, it’s that we’re going all in!” This fourth album ventures into uncharted territory. It delves into structures of verse and chorus, juxtaposing light with aggression, adopting a Beastie Boys-like phrasing, and embracing storytelling. Here, It It Anita sings about the guilt of hungover mornings, the yes men who stop at nothing, those crypto-millionaire slackers, and even the act of staying on your feet and ready to make noise after a decade of activity.

Following John Agnello, Laurent Eyen, and Amaury Sauvé, the musicians from Liège once again pay tribute to an important figure in their circle. Important, but in an entirely different way. This new album owes its title to the adorable golden retriever featured on the cover. Fostered by Elliot Stassen (bass) for 2 years, who became the group’s mascot, Mouche is now in his forever home as an assistance dog. A true long-haired icon, whose story seems to echo the abundance of colors present in these 9 new tracks. This fulfills It It Anita’s desire to create an album that’s even more closely connected to their audience, breaking their own codes all the way through.

Mensen spitsen extra hun oren.

Tyla - Water (Official Audio) - YouTube

About Tyla
Tyla’s music pushes boundaries. Infused with her vibrant personality, her songs offer an innovative take on pop and R&B, shimmering with the euphoria of South African amapiano, and an otherworldly approach to production that makes every track feel like something totally new. The Johannesburg native introduced herself internationally with her debut “Getting Late” featuring Kooldrink. Her promise in the chorus—“I won’t waste your time”—took on a double meaning. Suddenly, the passionate artist whose cold DMs to music industry power players had gone unanswered was a global lightning rod for bold self-expression. “Been Thinking” and “To Last,” her new singles via Epic Records, push her artistry forward and solidify her versatility as she bounds toward her ultimate goal.
“I once thought pop music was just straight-up radio music, that catchy music—which it is—but I feel like it’s just music that everyone can relate to, dance to, sing to,” the surging singer/songwriter says. “I’d love to be that pop star, especially that type of role model for other African artists because we have amazing, huge artists, but we need more people born in Africa to take that spot. When I was younger, I obviously had the dream to be the biggest pop star, but it’s not something that happens every day for an African artist.”
Still, despite her big dreams, Tyla is doing her best to remain carefree, an approach she demonstrated on “Getting Late,” hoping for the best but not expecting anything. She never anticipated that the song would permeate beyond South Africa, much less reach the U.S., but realized something was happening when people all over the world were making TikToks to the song, eventually resulting in more than 3.8 million Spotify streams and 5.4 million YouTube views. “I would show my parents every single new TikTok,” she says.
Tyla’s parents fostered a musically rich childhood home, playing the likes of Aaliyah, Boyz II Men, Brenda Fassie, Michael Jackson, Lira and Rihanna while she did chores. She often danced with her sisters—“I was that child that wanted to be seen by everyone”—and as soon as her mother told her she could sing, she never stopped. As a child, she made up songs for Father’s Day and Mother’s Day. She was 12 when she penned songs more seriously in her diary, which led to writing and singing originals to post to Instagram as a high schooler. She messaged any and everyone who worked in music, to mostly no avail.
Before catching the attention of a manager, Tyla was “on the verge” of studying mining engineering, because of the inherent uncertainty attached to artistic pursuits. “A lot of people in my family wanted to become musicians, and it didn’t work out, so that’s all my parents knew. They didn’t want that for me, and it was obviously out of love,” she says, noting she now has her parents’ undying support. “I had to make the decision: ‘Mom and Dad, I’m so sorry, but I’m gonna go for this.’”
Rihanna, an icon who had put Barbados on the map, served as a north star for Tyla as she scrapped to find her way. Tyla knew she had that potential in her, too—to “open a window to people in Africa.”
Tyla was determined to unlock what had always been inside her. “Getting Late” was the breakthrough, and her late 2021 song “Overdue” featuring DJ Lag and Kooldrink soundtracked the second-season trailer of Netflix’s South African teen drama Blood & Water, but “Been Thinking” and “To Last” find Tyla in full control of her own story, especially the emotional “To Last.”
“Making that song made me realize that I was born for this because I wrote the hook lyrics years ago in the shower,” she says. “I was just singing random words, and all of a sudden, I started singing, ‘You never gave us a chance / It’s like you never wanted to last.’ I grabbed my phone and recorded it.”
The piano-laced, pop-leaning track was inspired by her friend’s one-sided relationship, leaving her to wonder about feeling disposable. Tyla knows her worth now. By continuing to follow her intuition, Tyla is primed to build out her fan base and maximize her reach. She’s focused on the year ahead, performing and crafting her debut studio album, with the same intention from when she began. “I can’t wait for the day I perform in front of thousands of people outside of Africa,” she says. “And I just can’t wait for people to know that I’m the girl from South Africa that has songs playing on their radios.”

Signed to Epic Records through a joint venture with Johannesburg/New York based Fax Records, and co-managed by We Make Music and Africa Creative Agency, Tyla is poised to achieve international dominance with style, soul and spirit.

Alvaro Soler breaks new ground! With the release of his latest single 'Oxígeno' (engl. “oxygen”), the outstanding Barcelona-born artist shows a new musical side that takes his brand to a new level. A mix of reggaeton and dance elements come together with catchy melodies and beats in a way that we haven't heard from the multilingual artist before. This is a reflection of his musical curiosity and willingness to try things out and explore new directions.

It wasn't until the spring of this year that this willingness to break new ground manifested itself. He decided to release his music with a new team and a new label (Epic Records/Sony Music). The first releases followed: the focus single 'Muero' and the live track 'Para Vivirla', which was released for the live festival tour. The first of these turned out to be a real hit on the radio and on streaming in Europe. In Germany, the song reached #6 on the German airplay charts and currently has almost 10 million streams worldwide. The song is a modern, instantly catchy feel-good track, somewhere between disco and Latin pop, with a groovy guitar and danceable beats, opening up the new world of Alvaro Soler.

With 'Oxígeno' the artist goes one step further. For the first time you can hear Alvaro toying with heavily Latin-inspired beats and reggaeton elements, but influences from electronic dance music also come into play, giving the song a strong urban and modern feel that will surprise many Alvaro Soler fans. "Oxígeno' is about trying something new. The song has crazy sounds and elements [...] and is like an experiment for me to combine sounds from Latin America, Reggaeton and also Japanese influences," says Alvaro about his new single.

The accompanying music video captures this mix of influences. Shot in Madrid, Spain, in an industrial area with many cars from the Japanese and European tuning scene, the video is full of energy and drive. "Just like the song, we tried something new for the music video. [...] and at the same time bring back old worlds, like a time machine," explains Alvaro Soler, referring to his time in Japan, where he lived for many years. He was already a big fan of the local car tuning scene and was fascinated by all the cars, their owners and the whole deal. "I remember that time very well and how fascinated I was by the car tuning scene. There were all these crazy cars and neon lights everywhere that excited me. You could feel the passion of the people. [...] So it's really great to be able to combine that with 'Oxígeno' and create a nice combination between all my different influences and worlds," explains Alvaro.

After all, it was Alvaro's dream to become a car designer while studying industrial design. The artist even speaks a few words of Japanese with relative ease. So this part of Alvaro makes perfect sense and fits perfectly into the music video, as Alvaro not only shows new sides of himself visually and musically, but also reveals some characteristics and passions that many of his fans did not know yet.

Alvaro began the journey to this new artist identity and sound some time ago. Without pressure or deadlines, the 32-year-old explored completely different musical directions - without ever being untrue to himself and his typical signature sound, but instead revealing a previously unknown facet of his music. "I gave myself the freedom to experiment and go way out of my comfort zone. [...] I believe that through this new way of working, I've also created a new relationship with myself. A connection that has been missing for the last few years. With these new songs I have [...] completely rediscovered my passion for music".

Talent, passion and an almost boundless creative curiosity are the most important impulses in the career of the exceptional musician Alvaro Soler. Three priceless qualities that have made the German-Spanish superstar one of the most successful and popular solo artists in Europe and beyond. With over two million units of his three studio albums sold to date, more than five billion combined audio and video streams, over 150 gold and platinum awards and many millions of enthusiastic fans, Alvaro Soler now presents his own personal, evolved and modern vision of Latin Pop!

So what does Alvaro Soler sound like in 2023 - in his own words? "He sounds brave, modern, grown up, curious," says the singer and musician. "He just sounds good. And maybe a bit mysterious. [I think my fans will be pleasantly surprised!"

PURPLE DISCO MACHINE, DUKE DUMONT AND NOTHING BUT THIEVES UNVEIL NEW SINGLE ‘SOMETHING ON MY MIND’

Purple Disco Machine, Duke Dumont, Nothing But Thieves - Something On My Mind - YouTube

Grammy award winning DJ and producer Purple Disco Machine has joined forces with Duke Dumont and Nothing But Thieves to release their new single ‘Something On My Mind’.

The dynamic collaboration showcases a twist on Purple Disco Machine’s signature style, leaning into electronic indie pop with shimmering synth textures, a bubbling electro bassline, and Nothing But Thieves’ unmistakable sound. The unique blend of genres is further enhanced by Dom Craik and chart-topping producer Duke Dumont, whose friendship with Purple Disco Machine was born out of playing shows together over the years.

The track is accompanied with a super slick visual directed by Denisha Anderson at Caviar. Featuring cameo appearances as hijacked hostages from Nothing But Thieves and Purple Disco Machine, the video takes viewers from high-speed joyrides to robbing restaurants as fiery, romantic sparks take centre stage.

Purple Disco Machine has been at the forefront of a disco revival, earning accolades and chart success with his infectious grooves. His recent collaboration with Kungs ‘Substitution’, so far achieved over 110 millions streams worldwide, becoming another massive European airplay hit (#2 in Europe), and Gold status in Italy, The Netherlands, France, Belgium and Hungary. With an impressive track record that includes Grammy wins and remixes for a multitude of acclaimed artists, Purple Disco Machine has solidified his position as a trailblazer in electronic music. Having recently received a Grammy for Best Remix Performance on Lizzo's 'About Damn Time,' Purple Disco Machine continues to ride a wave of incredible success. The electronic virtuoso has established himself as a chart-topping artist through his collaborations with Sophie and the Giants on tracks including 'Hypnotized', ‘In The Dark' and 'Paradise' as well as achieving numerous multi-platinum singles with the likes of Eyelar and Moss Kena. Alongside these achievements, Purple Disco Machine has consistently delivered a series of dancefloor favorites including 'Body Funk', ‘Dished (Male Stripper)’, 'Rise', 'Playbox’ and recent single ‘Bad Company’.

Nothing But Thieves are known for their distinctive sound and powerful lyricism. The band bring their alt-rock sensibilities to the table, adding a dynamic edge to the collaboration. The Southend five-piece recently released their UK #1 album ‘Dead Club City’ and have an adept ability to progress their sound and experiment between the diverse genres that shape them, which make ‘Something On My Mind’ a particularly powerful collaboration.

While Duke Dumont’s focus is purely on artistry and building a world-beating live show, he’s still in the habit of making outrageously successful music commercially in the process. His worldwide streaming numbers literally stretch into the billions, over 4 billion to be precise, making him one of the most successful producers of electronic music on the planet. Monster tracks such as ‘The Chant’, ‘Ocean Drive’, ‘The Power’, ‘Red Light Green Light’, ‘I Got U’ and ‘Need U (100%)’ have been detonating clubs and parties, and continue to do so, for the last decade. Upon release, ‘I Got U’ and ‘Need U (100%)’ went to #1 in the UK single charts.

The concept for a collaboration blossomed from a mutual respect shared between Purple Disco Machine, Duke Dumont and Nothing But Thieves. Purple Disco Machine has long been an admirer of the indietronica sound, which is evidenced by his remixes for artists like Foals, Two Door Cinema Club, Balthazar, New Order and Royal Blood. When Nothing But Thieves approached Purple Disco Machine with a request to remix a track from their latest album, Purple Disco Machine had a different proposition in mind – instead, proposing the idea of creating something entirely original together. With this, the band eagerly joined forces, resulting in the birth of 'Something On My Mind.'

After already playing a run of multiple headline DJ sets across the globe earlier this year Purple Disco Machine will play his first ever headline show in his home city of Dresden on September 15th. The sold out 5,000 capacity show will feature guest appearances by many of the collaborating artists from his hit records. With more than 80 shows to play in 2023 he will then travel to the USA, Canada, Europe and Mexico to spread some more disco love across the planet.

‘Something On My Mind’ is out now and is set to be one of the biggest anthems of 2023.

About Purple Disco Machine
So ingrained in his identity, Tino Piontek’s artist name Purple Disco Machine is a deliberate homage to his funk hero Prince and the dance flair of Gloria Estefan’s Miami Sound Machine. While the sonic identity of Purple Disco Machine grew up in the clubs of East Germany, where his passion for disco and house flourished, he has since evolved to become an all-encompassing radio and streaming king. A suitable title for an artist with over 1 billion streams and multiple European Airplay Chart toppers across his catalogue with hits such as ‘Hypnotized’, ‘Fireworks’, ‘Dopamine’, and ‘In The Dark’ and 'Substitution'. Beyond the radio, he has proven to be a club favorite among DJs across the world as the #2 best-selling Beatport Artist of all time with dance floor heaters such as ‘Body Funk’ ‘Dished (Male Stripper)’, ‘Playbox’, and ‘Devil In Me feat Duane Harden & Joe Killing-ton’. A Grammy Award winner with a remix of Lizzo’s ‘ About Damn Time’, Purple Disco Machine has had huge success with multiple high-profile remixes for the likes of Dua Lipa, Mark Ronson, Foals, Calvin Harris, Sir Elton John & Britney Spears, Fatboy Slim, Lady Gaga & Ariana Grande, Diplo & SIDEPIECE and many more. Proving his passion for the intimacy of the dancefloor the acclaimed producer played more than 160 shows in 2022/23 across Europe, the United States, and South America, with festival appearances at Coachella, Tomorrowland, Lollapalooza, Ushuaia Ibiza and Dreamland Pride in Central Park New York. A dedicated performer and a hit-maker extraordinaire, his influence on the global dance scene will be felt for generations to come.

About Nothing But Thieves
Nothing But Thieves are Conor Mason (vocals, guitars), Joe Langridge-Brown (guitars), Dominic Craik (guitars, keyboard), Philip Blake (bass guitar) and James Price (drums). The past few years have been quite a ride for Southend five-piece Nothing But Thieves. Amassing over 1.2 million worldwide album sales, 2 billion worldwide streams and 250 million video views, they have built up a loyal and wide following for their impactful alt rock sound and achieved global success with multiple gold and platinum records around the world, including the UK, Australia, Russia, Netherlands, South Korea and Poland. In 2020, they released their third album ‘Moral Panic’, which charted at #3 achieving over 320 million streams and saw support from the likes of BBC Radio 1, Virgin Radio and Radio X alongside winning Best Indie Act at Global Radio’s 2021 Awards. They followed this later that year with ‘Moral Panic II’, with both projects forming ‘Moral Panic (The Complete Edition)’ in 2021. ‘Moral Panic’ followed their 2018 EP ‘What Did You Think When You Made Me This Way’, their 2017 acclaimed album ‘Broken Machine’, which charted at #2 in the UK album chart, and their debut self-titled album ‘Nothing But Thieves’. The band toured ‘Moral Panic’ in 2021 and 2022 with headline shows and festival dates in both the UK and Europe, including their biggest ever London headline show at O2 Arena and a 17,000 headline show at Amsterdam’s Ziggo Dome, alongside a live support slot with The Rolling Stones in Lyon. With a well-earned reputation for their energetic, impassioned, and infinite live shows, theirs is a live show not to be missed.

About Duke Dumont
While Dumont’s focus is purely on artistry and building a world-beating live show, he’s still in the habit of making outrageously successful music commercially in the process. His worldwide streaming numbers literally stretch into the billions. Over 4 billion to be precise, making him one of the most successful producers of electronic music on the planet. Shortly after, ‘Won't Look Back’ charted at #2, a feat almost unheard of for dance producers at the time.Fast forward to present day, Dumont is indignantly multi-faceted. His For Club Play Only singles series, which he’s been releasing for over a decade. You only have to look at his jaw dropping 2022 Coachella live set to get a sense of how some of Dumont’s most recent tracks are proving to be some of his biggest. In fact, despite having a solid decade of chart-topping hits behind him and being one of dance music’s most consistent forces, Dumont is only just beginning to peak. Happiness and success seemingly go hand-in-hand for Dumont as he moves forward into a significant new chapter in his already illustrious career. While based in LA, his Las Vegas Zouk residency has allowed him to shape, hone and perfect his hugely impressive live show, while creating unique and bespoke music for inclusion in it.

tweede single 13-10 "16" 16 - Single by SONDER.
