Jess Ribeiro to release ‘Helicopter Remix’ by Stella Mozgawa on 12/12
Jess Ribeiro will release a fresh remix of her track ‘Helicopter’, taken from her latest album Summer of Love. The remix is the work of Stella Mozgawa, best known as the drummer for indie rock band Warpaint. In addition to her work with Warpaint, Stella is also a member of the electronic duo Belief and has collaborated with a range of renowned artists, including Kurt Vile, St. Vincent, Courtney Barnett, Kim Gordon, John Grant and more. The remix is paired with a visually striking music video directed by Lucy Dyson, an award-winning filmmaker whose past work includes collaborations with Nina Simone, Still Corners and Paul McCartney.
About ‘Helicopter Remix’
Stella Mozgawa from Warpaint has made an EDM remix of Jess Ribeiro's song ‘Helicopter’ from her 2024 Australian award nominated album Summer of Love. Mozgawa reimagined the track into a dark techno number; an anthem that builds up and up into an acid synth exploration like someone searching through floodlights on a dance floor.
Jess' lyrics keeping to the heavy themes just above the beat: "Sirens sigh, green lights shine into the bathroom,…”
The song is complimented with a video collage animation by Lucy Dyson who was inspired by lyrical images including helicopters circling the city at night. It's a bit disturbing, reflecting the eerie times.

Jess Ribeiro - Summer Of Love - Released on Labelman (April 12th)
Across the ten tracks on Jess Ribeiro’s album “Summer of Love”, she traverses isolation, loss, tiny snatches of love, expectation versus reality, once-in-a-century pandemics and healing.
The first demos for “Summer of Love” were put down at a solar-powered shack by Jess with her friend and musical collaborator Dave Mudie (Courtney Barnett). For the recording Jess invited some special guests, including Jim White (Dirty Three, Xylouris White) on drums.
With each haunting melody and introspective lyric on this album, Jess reminds us of the transformative power of music, offering a beacon of light in even the darkest of times.
