BIVOUAC FESTIVAL 2025 – BILAN - Des arbres centenaires pour cadre de scène, une piscine au bord de laquelle musarder ou danser, un village, des activités, de quoi se perdre à contempler, des artistes passionnants à voir et à écouter : la 3ème édition du Bivouac Festival a tenu toutes ses promesses.
Sur une jauge de 1000 personnes, nous avons accueilli 750 personnes le vendredi et 600 le samedi. Les prévisions météorologiques pluvieuses ont eu raison des ventes de dernière minute. Et pourtant, le soleil a largement été de la partie, permettant de profiter au grand air, en version estivale !
Nous constatons un virage pour cette édition. Nombre de festivaliers ont fait le choix de rester tout le week-end, là où, pour les précédentes éditions, le public venait sur la journée.
Nouveautés 2025
Notre objectif principal : réduire l’impact carbone des trajets des festivaliers. Pour se faire, plusieurs actions ont été mises en place de sorte à privilégier les mobilités douces.
Une nouvelle scène piscine ! Jusqu’à présent, cette scène existait essentiellement pour prolonger la fête en clôture de soirée. Pour cette édition, nous avons aménagé un espace cosy dont les festivaliers ont pu profiter : un tournois de fléchettes, des jeux traditionnels en bois, un bar à cocktails, un espace chill avec parasols et transats... Le public a pris possession des lieux dès 14h.

CLOCK DVA have announced details of a long-awaited remastered reissue of their debut album, White Souls in Black Suits, available for the first time in 35 years. The album - originally released on in 1980 as a limited cassette on Industrial Records – will be released on 7 November 2025 on grey vinyl and CD, via The Grey Area of Mute, expanded with four bonus tracks from the same era.
"We set out to form a new sound combination," says Clock DVA's Adi Newton. "To combine acoustics and electronics, merging the German electronic wave with the edge of The Stooges, the avant-garde of the French GRM Musique Concrète, and the pioneering audio-visual creativity of The Velvet Underground. To create a harder form of electronic music with real energy."
And the band, who formed in Sheffield in 1978, quickly proved to do just that. Also inspired by science fiction, Russian constructivism and beat literature, Clock DVA soon created a unique sonic alchemy that for the best part of the last half century has proven to be an endlessly influential reference point across everything from post-punk to EBM via industrial and techno.
This singular audio-visual assault quickly saw people take notice. Fellow Sheffield pioneers, Cabaret Voltaire soon became friends and collaborators, as did Throbbing Gristle who released the debut on their imprint, Industrial Records.
The album features a lineup including Newton (voice, synth, clarinet, bowed electric guitar, and tape treatment), founding member Steven James Turner (bass treatment), David J. Hammond (guitar treatment), Charlie Collins (saxophone, flute & percussion), Roger Quail (percussion), and Simon M. Elliott-Kemp (synth), and was recorded at Cabaret Voltaire's Western Works studio.
'Anti-Chance', taken from White Souls in Black Suits, was a direct collaboration with Cabaret Voltaire and saw two of Sheffield's most innovative outfits join forces. "On 'Anti-Chance' we used random tapes from both DVA and Cabaret Voltaire," explains Newton. "It was a direct William Burroughs / Brion Gysin [inspired] audio cut up piece." Chance is fundamental to change.
Such experimentation can be heard all over their debut album which was, astonishingly, recorded in just a single day. "There is a cultivated myth that it was culled from 16 hours of improvisation but I'd venture the true figure is closer to 8 hours," says drummer Roger Quail. It's a record that is dark, eerie and brooding with a tense atmosphere as screeching guitars nestle up alongside toots of sax and electronic sci-fi-like soundscape explorations. It was a sound befitting of a group of people who were hell-bent on exploring new terrain. "Adi used to talk about being kinetic a lot around this time," recalls Quail. "Keep moving, don't stand still – and I think this restlessness informs much of the music around this time." And, for Quail, he's been knocked sideways revisiting the work ahead of its re-release. "I hadn't heard White Souls... since the early 90s," he says. "I'm blown away by the sound of this new master. There's a bit where we actually appear to invent Talk Talk's Spirit of Eden - to my ears anyway."
The group built up a fierce reputation as one of Sheffield's most ferocious live outfits who could melt minds and charge the atmosphere of a room like few others. "We did have a reputation as being wild and unpredictable," explains Newton. "But that was good because it gave us an edge." The stage was also a means for the group to explore with their burgeoning visual presence, which has since become a staple part of their identity and is something they are considered as pioneering for as their sonics. "For me it was always a staging, like theatre," Newton explains. "We have developed visuals throughout the DVA history, from using 8mm film and 35mm film slides in the early days and via the earliest digital computer graphics back in 1987 with the Amiga B2000 to the present day with visual artists we have worked with, along with our own creations."

Even voorstellen – Oscar Farrell – So Far South EP
London-based producer Oscar Farrell brengt op 5 september de EP So Far South uit. Met zijn nieuwste EP laat hij horen dat zijn sound nog verder is verdiept tot een echte clubsound, maar ook invloeden heeft uit meditatieve lofi.
Farrell werkt hard aan de weg binnen het dance genre en stond onder meer voor drie sets op Glastonbury. Op zijn nieuwste EP staat ook een samenwerking met singer-songwriter Sampha, die eerdere samenwerkingen met onder andere Drake, Kendrick Lamar en Frank Ocean had. De tracks klinken zowel intiem als groots. Het is muziek voor onbewaakte momenten, of je nu alleen bent of midden op een volle dansvloer. Daarmee laat Farrell opnieuw horen waar hij steeds meer om bekendstaat: dansmuziek maken met een emotionele kern die verder reikt dan de club.

De Belgische post-metalband Juneau heeft hun nieuwe single ‘Heave’ uitgebracht. Het is het eerste nummer dat wordt onthuld van hun aankomende tweede studioalbum.
Juneau staat bekend om hun rauwe energie, donkere sfeer en emotioneel geladen muziek. Met ‘Heave’ zet het trio een gedurfde stap vooruit en openen ze een nieuw hoofdstuk in hun muzikale verhaal. Het nummer combineert meeslepende melodieën met zware, verpletterende riffs en weet zo een mooie balans te vinden tussen intensiteit en kwetsbaarheid, én blijft het tegelijkertijd trouw aan de sound van de band.
Met hun debuutalbum heeft Juneau al een plaats veroverd in de Belgische undergroundscene en internationale aandacht getrokken. Het tweede album belooft hun geluid en hun bereik nog verder te vergroten. ‘Heave’ laat alvast horen dat dit hun meest ambitieuze werk tot nu toe kan worden.
Op 25 oktober viert Juneau de release van het nieuwe album met een release show in De Wommel in Wommelgem, samen met Walfgang.

Juneau - Heave
Over Juneau:
Juneau is een alternatieve metalband uit Heist-op-den-Berg, Antwerpen. Het trio staat bekend om zijn sfeervolle en dynamische sound en combineert elementen van postrock, doom, black metal en andere heavy genres tot een unieke muzikale identiteit die fans in België en daarbuiten aanspreekt.
De band werd opgericht in 2019 en bestaat uit drummer Soren Van Bauwel en gitaristen Kevin Cravillon en Antoon Verbeeck. Hun geluid wordt vaak gekenmerkt door rijke gitaartexturen en ingewikkelde en dynamische drumpartijen. Te midden van al het gitaargeweld heeft de band ook oor naar melodieuze segmenten om hun werk naar een emotioneel niveau te tillen.
Juneau trok voor het eerst de aandacht in de Belgische muziekscene met hun debuut-EP (2020), waarop ze lieten horen dat ze melodieuze hooks konden combineren met sfeervolle elementen. Naarmate hun fanbase groeide, traden ze op in verschillende zalen in België en verwierven ze al snel een reputatie voor hun boeiende liveshows en de rauwe emotie die ze op het podium brachten.
In de loop van de tijd bleef Juneau hun geluid verder ontwikkelen met de release van het full album Cloak (2021). In 2023 en 2024 speelde het trio hun eerste headliner-shows in België én in het buitenland en introduceerden ze enkele nieuwe nummers in hun setlist.
In oktober 2025 brengt Juneau een nieuw album uit, ‘Scraps of the Final Lights’, waarmee ze hun grenzen willen blijven verleggen met hun creativiteit en toewijding voor hun vak

De in Brussel geboren multidisciplinaire artiest en producer Shungu kondigt morgen zijn nieuwe album Faith in the Unknown aan, dat op 7 november uitkomt via Lex Records.
Als natuurlijk curator in zijn gerenommeerde carrière als producer, vertegenwoordigt dit album een lang gekoesterde droom: het vastleggen van een gemeenschap van stemmen, energieën en gevoeligheden die hem inspireren. Die gemeenschap omvat de muzikale zielsverwanten van Shungu zoals Pink Siifu, Liv.e, Navy Blue, Fly Anakin, Maxo, dreamcastmoe, Goya Gumbani, Fatima, Chester Watson, Ruqqiyah en ZEKEULTRA.

Stelmanis, a classically trained musician and opera devotee with four previous albums and a Canadian Screen Award under her belt, has been singing dramatic arias about tragedy for years. Her secret? She didn't really know what that devastation felt like. She only experienced it off stage in early 2020 when her long-term partner dropped a bombshell. "I was completely blindsided ... the person I loved woke up one day, told me she wasn't happy, and I basically never saw her again," Stelmanis says. She confesses to feeling very at odds with the world, like nothing made sense. The album's name is a reference to the societal pressure to just paste on a smile and keep going. Stelmanis and co-producer Kieran Adams took inspiration from the Eurodance sound of Madonna's landmark 1998 album Ray of Light, produced by William Orbit, and emerged with a mix of hypnotic dance floor anthems and elegant melodies to soothe your broken heart.
Stelmanis unleashed her pain over the breakup into poetic fragments in a cathartic Google document that eventually became the source for the album's powerful lyrics. One such example is captured vividly in the album's first riveting single "Math Equation": "You said I needed my own friends / So I found them / Then you fucked them." There is an unmistakable type of sapphic chaos threaded through every song, and "Math Equation" is equal parts catchy clapback and bittersweet plea for reconnection. "Math Equation" comes today via a video directed by Trevor Blumas.

Sam Bettens, de multi-platinum-stem achter K's Choice, begint aan een nieuw hoofdstuk met Coming Home, een diep persoonlijk en authentiek Country/Americana album. Aäron Koch shares 'For Once', a deeply personal track that captures the emotional turbulence surrounding the birth of his daughter. Written from the perspective of a moment where fainting felt dangerously close, something not unfamiliar to him, the song reflects the overwhelming urge to stay grounded, just this once.
'For Once' sets the tone for Koch's upcoming debut album. It was the first track recorded in the studio, laying the foundation for a raw and intuitive recording process. The band played together live in one room, embracing spontaneity and feel over technical perfection. The result is unpolished, vulnerable, and all the more powerful for it.
Known from his work with Calicos and his standout performances as a solo artist, including a Rock Rally 2024 finale spot, Koch is steadily carving out a space of his own. Drawing from indie rock, Americana, and alternative pop, his sound sits somewhere between introspection and catharsis.
'For Once' follows earlier singles 'Tired', 'Changes' and 'This House (That I've Built)', and offers another glimpse into a debut album (November 7) that promises to linger long after the final note fades.

Told in motion
Amongster releases its third studio album called 'Told In Motion', via V2 Records. Being grand with intimate music—it's what defines Thomas Oosterlynck, the heart and driving force behind Amongster. On his third album, the Ghent-based artist weaves philosophical reflections on self-development and societal issues into beautifully melancholic indie pop and electronica.
Had Oosterlynck not become a father for the second time last year, the album would have been here much sooner. "But it was a tough year, with little sleep. That last half-year, I put everything on hold." Gradually, he picked up the thread again with close friend and producer Brecht Plasschaert. "No pressure—just recording at his place. We won't work for days on end, sometimes half a day, sometimes a whole day, seeing what works. That's the best way for me."
It was a stark contrast to the pressure following Amongster's breakthrough in 2014, when he won De Nieuwe Lichting. "Suddenly, you have to do so much: perform, release singles, make an album—it's part of the deal, I get that. But over the years, I realized that that kind of pressure and pursuit of recognition doesn't fulfill me. Look, I studied business engineering. If you know me, it's funny how far that is from who I really am. It took me a long time to figure out what truly matters to me."
And that's not being another small cog in a big machine—something he expresses in the first single Breadcrumbs—but rather seeking meaningful experiences and translating them into music on a human scale. Stories and experiences are told in motion: they unfold as we actively engage with life rather than passively observe. They aren't just told—they are lived and felt.
Self-reflection runs deep throughout the album, touching on how we are shaped by our upbringing (Nine) and by the expectations we impose on ourselves as a society (Wash The Dust). But Oosterlynck also acknowledges that life inevitably falls into patterns (To Have Lived I Was Born), an idea sparked by an old interview with writer Charles Bukowski. At times, the lyrics take a more abstract, cryptic form, with music dictating the structure—as in Look At Me As A Game, where rhythm and sound become as important as the words themselves. For Oosterlynck, not everything in life needs to be explained. "I think it's important to recognize that there are many things we don't understand, things that can't be explained through science alone. I want to defend the intuitive, the non-rational."
What initially started as a collection of singles and later an EP, eventually evolved into a full album—one that leans more toward the synths and drum machines of Trust Yourself To The Water (2016) than the guitars of A New Arrival (2019). But don't look for a deliberate strategy. "This is just Amongster. I've always worked like this—writing and recording simultaneously, shaping the sound as I feel it should be in the moment. It doesn't all have to blend seamlessly, it doesn't all have to fit one style." His influences remain unchanged: Sufjan Stevens, Iron & Wine, Dan Mangan ("also with that grit in his voice"), and above all, Thom Yorke and Radiohead. "In Rainbows is my favorite album. My guitar parts, especially the arpeggios, definitely trace back to that."
Live, Amongster has taken a different path in recent years—a shift that began after A New Arrival. The classic five-piece setup no longer worked for him; he wanted a more intimate, stripped-down approach. Only drummer Robbe Vekeman remained, joined by vocalist Flo Delameilleure, who also plays guitar and bass. "I find it more powerful when we play acoustically, allowing more space for the song and the lyrics themselves. I used to focus a lot on making things sound like the record. Letting go of that has been incredibly freeing—if something doesn't work live, we simply don't play it."

Multitalent Pommelien Thijs is een van de meest toonaangevende jonge artiesten van het moment. Haar doorbraakalbum 'Per Ongeluk' uit 2023, met daarop de megahits "Erop of Eronder", "Zilver" en "Ongewoon", werd op alle vlakken een triomf. Haar unieke stijl leverde haar in drie jaar tijd maar liefst twaalf MIA's op.

Even voorstellen - Pilod stelt nieuwe single Teacher of Fools voor
Een gedeelde liefde voor alternatieve gitaarmuziek drijft Pilod, een eigenzinnig viertal uit Leuven, al sinds 2013. Hun nummers ontstaan intuïtief: schetsen uit jamsessies die zich organisch tot songs vormen. Waar de eerste tracks nog sterk refereerden aan de nineties, heeft een decennium samen spelen, touren en wisselende bezettingen de band gemaakt tot wie ze nu is: groovy, dynamisch en eclectisch, altijd volgend waar de inspiratie hen brengt.
Na singles als The Future Looks Bright (2022), Double Digits (2024), No Adjustments (2024) en Anticipate the Fall (mei 2025), is er nu met Teacher of Fools de laatste single vóór de langverwachte release van hun derde album.
In de videoclip geen Lassie of Samson, maar Mieke, een golden retriever met serieuze presence (bekend uit The Future Looks Bright). Achter de speelse absurditeit schuilt misschien — heel misschien — een vleug melancholie. Zoals de laatste zin van het nummer waarschuwt:
"Experience the teacher of many fools" — sommige lessen leer je enkel the hard way.
De single werd opgenomen, gemixt & gemasterd door Jan Viggria (Barnowl Productions / The Guru Guru), sinds 2024 de creatieve klankpartner van de band.
De video is een knipoogrijke creatie van Robbe Maes, die Pilod al sinds 2016 van visuals voorziet.

The Sydney five-piece, which has built up a loyal international fanbase over the years, celebrates this new powerful chapter today with the release of 'Double A Side': a double single consisting of the tracks 'Where Does Life Begin' and 'Vertigo'. The band also unveils a bold new visual direction with the release of two accompanying music videos. Double A Side is now available digitally and on exclusive 7" vinyl.
Since their formation in 2009, Boy & Bear have been known for their warm, layered sound in which folk, pop, and indie rock blend seamlessly. Over the past fifteen years, the band has grown into a mainstay of the international music scene, with multiple gold and platinum albums, countless sold-out tours, and over half a billion streams worldwide.
With 'Where Does Life Begin', Boy & Bear once again showcase why they are so beloved. The track breathes both melancholy and hope, a theme that has characterized the band since the very beginning. At the same time, 'Vertigo'reveals another side of the group: a song that balances lightness with existential questions. Frontman Dave Hosking explains:
"I'm interested in painting a mood with lyrics and melody, not being too specific or literal but leaving room for interpretation, and I feel that Vertigo is a good example of this. That said, Vertigo explores the awkwardness of life and time and change. We grow up, but on some level, we can still feel like children - we really don't know anything at all, but maybe that's also okay? I really wanted to explore this concept in a light-hearted way. On some level it's also about embracing these moments in our lives with a sense of humour and openness.
This versatility gives Boy & Bear their own recognizable identity. Five musicians with different backgrounds and influences come together to create a sound that balances nostalgic folk, grooving rhythms, and melodic pop. The result is music that feels both intimate and grand, always evoking a sense of familiarity.
The release of Double A Side also marks a bold new visual direction for the band. Both singles are accompanied by music videos, created in collaboration with Creative Director Jeremy Koren (Grey Ghost / Ghostie Studios). Koren drew inspiration from a range of artistic influences: "The classic John Brack painting Collins St at 5pm was an influence, as was Rene Magritte's depictions of suited men in hats. There's something quite sad and unnerving about uniformity but it also allows the band to become an organism reflecting our collective gaze upon this crazy world. The loneliness of Jeffrey Smart's visual compositions as well as the weirdness of David Byrne's comments on society - all these things made their way into the visuals" says Jeremy Koren.

Na een bijzonder succesvolle looptijd van zes maanden heeft Mundo Pixar Experience™ gisteren, zondag 31 augustus, officieel de deuren gesloten in Brussels Expo. De tentoonstelling, lokaal georganiseerd door Gracia Live in samenwerking met Golden Peak Live Entertainment en Proactiv Entertainment, was sinds de opening op 12 maart een groot succes en trok bijna 330.000 bezoekers.
De meeslepende expo rond de films van Pixar Animation Studios is daarmee nu al de meest bezochte tentoonstelling van het jaar in België, dit ondanks de dagelijkse capaciteitslimieten die werden ingesteld om de bezoekersstroom te reguleren.
“We zijn enorm blij dat we deze blockbuster-expo naar België konden halen. Met meer dan 30% van de bezoekers uit het buitenland zijn we ook trots dat we hebben kunnen bijdragen aan de uitstraling van Brussel als toeristische trekpleister.
