De Italiaanse band Lacuna Coil keert terug naar Nederland met hun kenmerkende mix van donkere melodieën en krachtige zangpartijen. Ook Forbidden staat op het affiche, De legendarische Bay Area thrashers die met nieuwe energie oude klassiekers een stevige dosis snelheid en techniek meebrengen. Rivers of Nihil zorgt voor de gelaagdheid: hun combinatie van brute deathmetal en sfeervolle, bijna jazzy passages maakt hen tot een van de meest diverse acts van dit moment.
De variatie in de line-up zet stevig door met het Zweedse Self Deception, dat alternatieve metal en post-hardcore samenbrengt in meeslepende, energieke nummers. Fimbul Winter, gevormd door oud-leden van Amon Amarth, laat de Zweedse deathmetal traditie voortleven in een nieuw, krachtig geluid. Wings of Steel brengt heavy metal met een klassieke inslag, denk aan grote refreinen, gierende solo’s en een sound die doet denken aan de jaren ’80, maar met moderne flair. Van eigen bodem zien we Graceless, dat met hun trage, logge death/doom een duistere sfeer neerzet, en State Power, die met hun rauwe hardcore garant staan voor beweging in de pit.
The Narrator uit Duitsland schuurt tegen post-metal en hardcore aan, en bouwt hun muziek op met spanning, emotie en intensiteit. Inhuman Nature komt met een crossover-sound vol thrash, punk en groove: rechttoe rechtaan en zonder omwegen. Het Friese Atmoran laat zien dat er in het noorden genoeg thrash leeft, met een energieke en melodieuze benadering. Tot slot zorgt Opia voor een andere toon: hun gothic doom is traag, sfeervol en zwaar.

Filmed in Warsaw, Poland, the piece follows a woman navigating grief as she struggles to mend her broken heart. Ultimately, she finds solace and healing through her spirituality.

'Variomatic' luidt een nieuw hoofdstuk in voor Kameel. de band, bekend om zijn instrumentale aanpak en wortels in jazz, rock, krautrock en experimentele muziek, zet met hun derde plaat een duidelijke stap richting elektronica. Op het album wordt uitgebreid geëxperimenteerd met analoge synths, arpeggiators en elektronische texturen. De clip van single/titeltrack 'Variomatic', geregisseerd door Raf Wathion (zie ook: 'Getting Cosy with Steve'), plaatst absurde katten in een rauwe, vervreemdende omgeving van garages, stegen en verweerde voertuigen—een visuele tegenwereld die perfect aansluit bij de hoekige motoriek van de muziek.
Met 'VarioMatic' sleurt Kameel je mee in een rit door het asfalt van de jaren 80, zonder richtingaanwijzers of achteruitkijkspiegel. De track puft, stottert en gromt als een opgevoerde automaat op EBM-brandstof. Denk DAF in de werkplaats met een defecte drummachine en een overdosis motorolie—ruw, zwetend, strak in het leer.
'Tales From A Sinister Farm', de tweede single van de plaat, klinkt als een boerderij die langzaam ontspoort: beukende drums, een bas die diep gromt, fuzzgitaren die schuren. Daarboven zingt Tim Vanhamel (Millionaire, Evil Superstars, Deus, Eagles of Death Metal) met sinistere urgentie: “A chainsaw sings a song, I whistle along.” Het refrein wiegt kinderlijk, maar huiveringwekkend: “Ding dong ding bell, my baby’s in the well.”
Kameel laat de chaos bezinken met beklijvende harmonieën die onder je huid kruipen. De velden die keer op keer dezelfde beelden tonen – “always the same” – krijgen een bezwerende muzikale echo. 'Tales From A Sinister Farm' is een schurende trip: punky, dreigend, maar ook hypnotiserend en onvergetelijk. Grote shout out naar Raf Wathion voor de magistrale videoclip.

Met de vierde single ‘Many Reasons’ bevindt the.king.lost zich in laatste rechte lijn richting hun debuutalbum, ‘Are You Facing History?’, die uitkomt op 5 november. Na samenwerkingen met de Noorse producer Fredrik Vogsborg (bekend van o.a. Casiokids, Aurora en The Megaphonic Thrift) en Matias Tellez (Girl In Red, Young Dreams), ook uit Noorwegen, die de mastering van hun songs verzorgde, is de band helemaal klaar om de plaat te presenteren.

OVER ‘ARE YOU FACING HISTORY?’: DEBUUTALBUM VAN THE.KING.LOST (ALBUM RELEASE 05.11.2025)
Na twee jaar schrijven in zijn home studio bracht Bert Verbeke zijn muziek naar buiten. Tijdens try-outs raakten zijn songs tot bij de mensen en nestelden ze zich onder hun huid. Zijn solowerk ademt rust en kenmerkt zich door gevoeligheid en ruimte in de muziek, destijds perfect voor kleinere podia en intieme huiskamerconcerten.
Een eerste selectie van nummers werd gemixt en geproduceerd door Fredrik Vogsborg, Noorse producer die bekend is van onder andere AURORA, Casiokids en The Megaphonic Thrift. Met een Scandinavische touch waren de eerste afgewerkte songs een feit.
De ambitie om ook grotere podia te veroveren bracht Verbeke samen met Michaël Degreef (Noëmie Wolfs, Yong Yello) en Gerben Brys (HONEY, Ottla), met wie hij opnieuw begon te creëren en op te nemen, wederom met de vertrouwde Noorse producer. In hun zoektocht naar een nog gelaagdere live sound vervolledigde Elisabeth De Loore (DE VICKY) de groep. the.king.lost was geboren.
Na de eerder uitgebrachte singles ‘Not Like Yesterday’, ‘Magnet’ and ‘Want’ geeft the.king.lost met ‘Many Reasons’ een allerlaatste voorproefje van hoe het album zal klinken: eclectisch, verhalend en dromerig. Het debuutalbum komt uit op 5 november 2025 in eigen beheer en wordt op 5 december voorgesteld in Kavka in Antwerpen.

Nel en Rahmat maken als muzikanten en vocalisten natuurlijk ook deel uit van het zeven- koppige grotere geheel 'THE SWOON', SKC's energieke begeleidingsband waarmee hij in 2024 het veelgeprezen album 'Be(e) Who You Wanna Be(e)' afleverde, en pers en publiek verraste met opzwepende, funky en kleurijke live shows.

SKC's hese tenor is intussen een herkenbaar geluid in het Belgische muzieklandschap en wordt geflankeerd door de zachtfluwelen alt van Nel Ponsaers en de soulvolle sopraan van Rahmat Emonds. De naam van de band is trouwens een samenvoegsel van de eerste 2 letters van de achternaam van de zangeressen.
Samenzang staat centraal op dit album, maar alle drie komen ze ook als solist naar voren en worden de songs zo vanuit verschillende standpunten en gevoelswerelden benaderd.
In elk muzikaal avontuur dat SKC aangaat, komt zijn grote liefde voor instrumenten naar voren. Dus ook deze keer reist hij met een keur aan bijzondere gitaren, bassen, orgeltjes, analoge synths en opvallende geautomatiseerde percussie en een snaredrum, waardoor het soms lijkt of het trio door een onzichtbare muzikant begeleid wordt.

Texas musical trio Khruangbin releases The Universe Smiles Upon You ii, the reimagined version of their debut album The Universe Smiles Upon You, on its 10-year anniversary.
The new album features various degrees of subtlety and musical reinterpretation from the original album. On The Universe Smiles Upon You ii, the band switched up the sequence and track list, removing the original album opener "Mr. White" and opting to include fan favorite "Bin Bin" which was originally an album bonus track in Japan. The new rendition of "Mr. White" now takes the place of "Bin Bin" on the Japanese edition of the CD, titled "M. Blanc."
The release is also accompanied by a new music video for "White Gloves ii." The music video, directed and produced by and starring Khruangbin.
The band sat down with Rolling Stone to discuss their decision to rerecord their debut album and create The Universe Smiles Upon You ii. "The thought was like, 'We'll just do it all over again. And it will be us 10 years later with the same instruments in the same location, and it'll be different because we're different,'" Laura Lee Ochoa told Rolling Stone, "But as the date neared, it was sort of, 'Actually, the kids 10 years later would think about the songs as they are today, and not just play them as they were. That's not who we are.'"
Ahead of the album's release, Khruangbin surprised fans with the announcement of their upcoming U.S. tour, celebrating the 10-year anniversary of The Universe Smiles Upon You. The band will be performing in intimate venues across the U.S. on this 15-date tour.
Khruangbin did not set out to make the album - all they knew in the first frigid days of 2025, as they shivered in the Central Texas barn where they've recorded almost all of their music, was that the 10th anniversary of their debut, The Universe Smiles Upon You, was steadily approaching. What if, they had wondered, they went back to the barn where it all began and recut the record that had started it all, on the actual 10th anniversary of those sessions? They decided, at least, to try.
It did not take long for Laura Lee Ochoa, Mark Speer, and DJ Johnson to know that the idea was indeed a good one, that in holding up a mirror shaped by the past 10 years to their formative set of songs they could feel and hear how they had changed as people and players. The result is The Universe Smiles Upon You ii, 10 entirely new renditions of the songs from Khruangbin's oldest album, played and sequenced in a way that works for them now without being strictly allegiant to who they were then.
In many ways, The Universe Smiles Upon You ii represents the close of Khruangbin's first chapter, the complete culmination of the music they made when they arrived at the barn in January 2015. During the last decade, they have reached an apotheosis of sorts, their love of Thai pop and heavy dub and American soul and Ethiopian haze perfectly crystallized in a string of splendid records and live shows that have hypnotized massive theaters and festival crowds alike. They've repeatedly sold out the United States' most famous venues, from Red Rocks and Forest Hills to the Hollywood Bowl and Radio City, and they've crowned festivals from Glastonbury to Bonnaroo. After more than a decade of relentless touring and recording, their expertly polyglot 2024 album, A LA SALA, helped earn a Grammy nomination for Best New Artist.
The Universe Smiles Upon You ii provides a point of pause for Khruangbin, a chance to step back from a sound they now know so well and figure out where it may go from here. RONKER is not the first state-of-the-art speednoise band to ever exist, but they are the first ones to coin the term. Formed in 2020 in the heart of the swamplands of Belgium the band comes naturally weathered and screaming bloody murder.

Christoff brengt ‘De Roos’, een tijdloze favoriet, nu in een frisse versie
Christoff pakt uit met een nieuwe single die velen meteen zal raken. ‘De Roos’ is een prachtige herwerking van de tijdloze klassieker van Ann Christy. Het nummer is al jarenlang een van de meest gevraagde liedjes tijdens zijn kerstconcerten en nu is er eindelijk een officiële studioversie.
Voor deze bijzondere opname werkte Christoff samen met Jérémie Vrielynck, die de zang opnam in zijn studio in Geel. De samenwerking leverde een warme, frisse versie op die het originele gevoel van Ann Christy eer aandoet, maar tegelijk helemaal Christoff ademt.
“‘De Roos’ van Ann Christy is een gevoelig nummer dat onlosmakelijk verbonden is aan mijn kerstconcerten. Wanneer het voorbijkomt, zie ik dat er bij velen een traantje rolt over hun wang. Zo gevoelig, zo broos en breekbaar is de versie die ik zing en die ik op verzoek van velen nu heb opgenomen in de studio. Laat het lied vooral veel kracht en moed geven aan mensen die het moeilijk hebben. Dat het een extra warm dekentje mag zijn in de eindejaarsdagen voor mensen die het lastig hebben.”

Antwerpen – Regi, Linda en hun special guests zetten dit weekend de AFAS Dome in vuur en vlam met een vette show vol energie, pompende beats en spectaculaire licht- en video-effecten — kortom: één groot Unstoppable-feest. En er is nog goed nieuws voor de fans: op zaterdag 24 oktober 2026 keert Milk Inc. terug naar de AFAS Dome met een unieke soloshow. Het wordt een avond die volledig in het teken staat van hun indrukwekkende 30-jarige carrière: ‘Milk Inc. Forever’.
Van ‘La Vache’ tot legendarische liveshows
De Belgische danceformatie Milk Inc. werd opgericht in 1996 en groeide uit tot een van de meest succesvolle acts uit onze muziekscène. Met Europese hit als ‘Walk on Water’, ‘La Vache’ en ‘In My Eyes’ veroverde de band niet alleen de hitlijsten, maar ook de harten van duizenden fans.
In 2000 speelde Milk Inc. hun allereerste concert in het Sportpaleis – een traditie die meer dan tien jaar lang zou uitgroeien tot een begrip. Hun laatste show vond plaats in 2013, … althans, tijdelijk.

“Zeker als ik de shows van Regi zag,” vertelt ze. In 2023 stond ze op het podium tijdens Regi’s The Return in het Sportpaleis (nu AFAS Dome) – een emotioneel weerzien dat meteen duidelijk maakte: het publiek had Linda én Milk Inc. gemist.
Het jaar erop volgden zeven uitverkochte Regi vs. Milk Inc.-shows, gevolgd door een zomertour. De chemie tussen Linda en Regi was opnieuw onmiskenbaar, en de logische volgende stap liet niet op zich wachten: nieuwe muziek.
Begin september verscheen de gloednieuwe single ‘Unstoppable’, die sindsdien stevig standhoudt in de hitlijsten. En het duo belooft: er komt nog meer nieuwe muziek aan. Het vuur brandt, en het wordt alleen maar groter. Tegen volgend jaar willen we dus een volgend nummer hebben. Eentje per jaar. Laat ons maar focussen op af en toe een echte knaller van een single.” aldus Regi. “Dit keer gaan we door tot we niet meer kunnen. Milk Inc. is terug. En dit keer zijn we unstoppable!”

'Poids Lourd' is de laatste vooruitgeschoven single/videoclip van de debuutplaat van Wholes. Release van 'A Mass In The Water' op 14 november 2025. Het full album is een intense en rauwe weerspiegeling van verdriet, trauma en het verlangen naar genezing. 'A Mass In The Water' beschrijft grosso modo de laatste dag van Wolf Vanwymeersch zijn vader die tijdens een psychose uit het leven stapte. De plaat balanceert tussen spot, woede, onmacht, rouw, begrip, compassie en liefde. Al de gevoelens die suïcide met zich meebrengt, komen terug in de songs. Donkere, indringende teksten verweven zich met vervormde stemmen, atonale fuzzgitaren en explosieve uitbarstingen. Experimentele riffs en hypnotiserende ritmes ontmoeten noise, punk, metal en avant-garde. 'A Mass In The Water' is een krachtig portret van vergankelijkheid, emotionele littekens en de menselijke drang om pijn onder ogen te zien, te verwerken en een fragiele, maar wezenlijke weg naar verzoening te vinden.

Mastodon komt naar Into The Grave!
Ze stonden afgelopen jaar op Dynamo Metalfest en lieten daar zien waarom ze tot de absolute top behoren. Nu komt Mastodon naar Leeuwarden en nemen ze de zaterdagavond mee de diepte in!
Mastodon is al ruim twintig jaar een vaste waarde in de moderne metalscene. Met een sound die zich niets aantrekt van hokjesdenken en moeiteloos schakelt tussen brute kracht en complexe melodieën. Dat hoor je terug in een ijzersterke show die je laat beven tot op het bot.
Zaterdag 13 juni op het Oldehoofsterkerkhof. Mastodon bouwt op, breekt af en laat geen grafsteen heel.

José González has shared a playful, lighthearted, Spanish-language track “Pajarito” and its accompanying video. The track, written with his children in mind, blends his tender acoustic guitar with bright, whimsical melodies.
Speaking on the track and artwork he says: Now and then I want to write songs that are timeless, simple, and carefree. Pajarito is about growing up, learning things, and eventually becoming independent. As usual, there’s also an existential undertone—the meaning of life is something that can emerge gradually as one gets to know the world, more as something you discover for yourself and not necessarily something dictated from above. This one is inspired by songs like “59th Street Bridge Song” (Simon & Garfunkel) and “Río” (Silvio Rodríguez). But also by all the children’s songs that have become part of our everyday life in recent years (Alice Tegnér, Georg Riedel, María Elena Walsh).
This is the follow-up to Lilla Gumman (Lilla G), which I wrote when I was thinking of Laura. Of course I had to write a song dedicated to Mateo as well!
Speaking on the video, he says:
I’ve been curious about technology and how it has led humanity to where we are. Understanding the huge potential and unforeseeable implications of artificial intelligence, I felt curious to explore current tools in a playful and simple way for this light-hearted song.
We started prompting Sora and VEO in September with lines like “A little bird and its parent by the Swedish archipelago, late summer. Clumsy, cute, adorable”. After a chat with video maker Jonny Sanders we decided to make it a concept video, so we let the models come up with a plot and video-prompts. We chose the bullfinch because of its nice colors.
José is currently in the studio working on new material for what will become his fifth studio album, his first full-length collection of original songs since Local Valley in 2021. More information is forthcoming.
