Even voorstellen - RONKER’s sophomore album - first single “No Sweat”!
Remember “Fear Is a Funny Thing, Now Smile Like a Big Boy”, the explosive 2024 debut from Belgian speed-noise band RONKER. After relentless touring, the band have been channeling that energy into new music and they’re finally ready to unleash it.
“Fear Is a Funny Thing, Now Smile Like a Big Boy” was met with overwhelmingly positive reactions, with journalists praising the band’s cross-over antics, also applauding RONKER for testing the limits of standard tuned guitars whilst retaining a hooky nature. The band was complimented on injecting a much needed boost of speed into the Belgian music scene. The album also meant the stepping stone for RONKER’s first international touring milestones: bringing them to festivals like Hellfest, 2000Trees, Pukkelpop and Jera On Air.

First single “No Sweat”
“No Sweat” kicks off RONKER’s new album cycle with a furious blend of post-punk, noise rock and hardcore.
The Belgian speednoisers spit their frustration over modern overstimulation, chasing meaning in a world that never slows down. Think IDLES meets METZ on a caffeine rush, with a touch of Refused’s chaos and Voivod’s weirdness.
Bigger sound, same sweat-soaked energy — RONKER are ready for larger pits and louder nights.
About the upcoming album
On sophomore album - of which title is yet to be revealed - RONKER sounds more ambitious than ever. A concept-album about coping mechanisms and the antics of a rock&roll-lifestyle. The band is presenting a more layered and sophisticated sound than its predecessor; the result is a record that is equally shaped by the likes of David Bowie and the Spiders from Mars as it is by Refused or Slayer. Still as aggressive as before, but with a more old-school approach to songwriting with big choruses and even bigger riffage.
Although RONKER likes to profile themselves as pleasant rascals with big hearts full of love, they are not really known for being the happiest kids in school. Now the time has come to bring that anger to the stages again and burn down the expectations with a new batch of big speed-noise songs. Always suffering, forever nervous.
Respect the hustle. Unleash the dogs of war. The RONK is coming.
RONKER will celebrate their release on February 8th with a show at Ancienne Belgique, Brussels and tickets are already more than 70% sold out.
RONKER is not the first state-of-the-art speednoise band to ever exist, but they are the first ones to coin the term. Formed in 2020 in the heart of the swamplands of Belgium the band comes naturally weathered and screaming bloody murder.
RONKER’s music can be described as a mix between Danzig-era Misfits and Helmet, equally influenced by the earliest of hardcore-punk and 90’s alternative guitar music.
most old-school fashion: by playing live. Always visceral, urgent and frantic, RONKER is prime example of being staunchly committed to rock and roll athleticism. Throwing shapes and taking names.
