"Limelighter is a song that came very early in the writing process of this record, but took the longest time to finish. We always knew it would be one of the cornerstones of the album due to its lyrical nature and due to the fact it is unapologeticly mingling all our influences in one big rock song. It's one of those kind of songs you start writing and immediately think of as a set-closer, hence its epic nature. A song about singing songs in front of people to close the show: talk about going full-circle.”

These are the words Belgian speed noise band RONKER have to say about their new single “Limelighter”, out now on all platforms and accompanied by a wild music video featuring a real-life (yes!) snake and mime dancers.

“Limelighter” follows the band’s first single “No Sweat”, which landed in both the Kerrang! Chart and Metal Hammer’s Best New Metal Songs of The Week.

About Limelighter
Limelighter shows RONKER at its most maximalist, pulling out most of the bells and whistles the band has in its arsenal. Think big: big chorus, big emocore breakdown, big choir arrangement, big chromatic death metal riff at the finish. The end is near, anything goes.
On the penultimate track of their forthcoming record, RONKER is not just dipping its toes into genre-blending, they are taking a full on nosedive. The result is some sort of circus-metal in which you can hear echo’s of the likes of At The Drive In and Helmet, but also contemporary stuff like The Armed. Like a Talking Heads song that would be played by a bunch of maniacs, it sounds endearing and visceral at the same time.
The brooding yet frantic track details on the struggles that come with committing to the nomadic lifestyle of being an entertainer. The band wrote the album while being on the road and it shows: it's urgent, direct and doesn't waste any time with formalities. Being the second to last song on the record it has all the mainstays of a grande finale where the band reaches a full-circle moment.

About the forthcoming album
On sophomore album, "Respect The Hustle, I Won’t Be Your Dog Forever”, RONKER sounds more ambitious than ever. A concept-album about coping mechanisms and the antics of a rock&roll-lifestyle. The band is presenting a more layered and sophisticated sound than its predecessor; the result is a record that is equally shaped by the likes of David Bowie and the Spiders from Mars as it is by Refused or Slayer. Still as aggressive as before, but with a more old-school approach to songwriting with big choruses and even bigger riffage.

Although RONKER likes to profile themselves as pleasant rascals with big hearts full of love, they are not really known for being the happiest kids in school. Now the time has come to bring that anger to the stages again and burn down the expectations with a new batch of big speed-noise songs. Always suffering, forever nervous.

Respect the hustle. Unleash the dogs of war. The RONK is coming. “Respect The Hustle, I Won’t Be Your Dog Forever”  is set for release on January 30th!

RONKER will celebrate their release on February 8th with a SOLD OUT show at Ancienne Belgique, Brussels.

RONKER is not the first state-of-the-art speednoise band to ever exist, but they are the first ones to coin the term. Formed in 2020 in the heart of the swamplands of Belgium the band comes naturally weathered and screaming bloody murder.
RONKER’s music can be described as a mix between Danzig-era Misfits and Helmet, equally influenced by the earliest of hardcore-punk and 90’s alternative guitar music.
Since its inception RONKER can mainly be found on the road. Carving out an audience in the most old-school fashion: by playing live. Always visceral, urgent and frantic, RONKER is prime example of being staunchly committed to rock and roll athleticism. Throwing shapes and taking names.

BEAT blaast nieuw leven in het onvergetelijke repertoire van King Crimson uit de jaren 80! Adrian Belew en Tony Levin, twee voormalige leden van de progressieve rockband King Crimson, creëren samen met gitaarmeester Steve Vai en Tools-drummer Danny Carey BEAT: een gedurfde herinterpretatie van de iconische albums 'Discipline', 'Beat' en 'Three of a Perfect Pair'. De drie albums, mede geschreven door Robert Fripp en Adrian Belew, worden beschouwd als hét hoogtepunt van King Crimson. Ondanks het vertrek van gitarist, zanger en leider Adrian Belew bleef de band optreden voor enthousiaste fans wereldwijd, maar die succesvolle cultnummers speelden ze vanaf toen niet langer live. Op dinsdag 9 juni in het Koninklijk Circus, Brussel en op vrijdag 12 juni in De Roma, Antwerpen

Na dit jaar door heel Europa te hebben getourd en het Belgische publiek te hebben betoverd tijdens een memorabel concert in Bozar, gaat Patrick Watson opnieuw op pad! De Montréalse artiest verlengt zijn 'UH OH TOUR' en komt terug voor twee uitzonderlijke optredens. Hij staat op 9 juni in het Koninklijk Circus in Brussel en op 12 juni in De Roma in Antwerpen.

Patrick Watson staat bekend om zijn unieke universum waarin delicate pianomuziek, experimentele klanken en rauwe emoties samenkomen en met deze vernieuwende creativiteit blijft hij indruk maken. Zijn stem keert terug met dezelfde gevoeligheid na een periode van gedwongen stilte. Internationaal blijft zijn succes groeien. Zijn nummer "Je te laisserai des mots" behaalde recent een historische mijlpaal voor een Franstalig nummer: het werd meer dan een miljard keer beluisterd op Spotify. Als winnaar van de Polaris Music Prize (Canada, 2007) en met meerdere JUNO-nominaties speelde hij concerten op alle continenten, vaak begeleid door prestigieuze symfonieorkesten. Watson componeerde bovendien meer dan vijftien soundtracks voor films en series, waaronder "The Walking Dead" en werken van Denis Villeneuve en Wim Wenders.Zijn achtste studioalbum 'Uh Oh' verscheen op 25 september en bevat een indrukwekkende reeks samenwerkingen, onder andere met Charlotte Cardin, November Ultra, Martha Wainwright, en Klô Pelgag. Het album is een muzikale reis die balanceert tussen intimiteit, inventiviteit en krachtige teksten. Watson bracht het album eerder live tijdens een prachtige, uitverkochte avond in Bozar in november.

Hadewig Kras is de powerwoman/bassist van de European Language Mash-Up Punk Rock Chanson Band KRaS!, bekend om hun krachtige liveoptredens. Haar artistieke reis begon in Amsterdam, waar ze de toneelschool verliet om de vibe van Antwerpen te verkennen. Daar ontmoette ze haar muziekkompaan, acteur en gitarist Jan Bijvoet, wat leidde tot de oprichting van KRaS!.
Met een sound die energieke rock en poëtische chansons combineert, veroverde KRaS! al snel een kleine maar unieke niche in de antwerps-amsterdamse muziekscenea, en na een reeks onorthodoxe demo's die hoge ogen gooiden, maar waar niemand echt raad mee wist behalve Blixa Bargeld (Einstürzende Neubauten, Nick Cave & the Bad Seeds), markeerde hun debuutalbum, opgenomen in Berlijn en geproduced door Blixa, een nieuwe stap op hun pad. De ep BERLIN RECORDINGS won prompt twee Independent Music Awards in de VS. En toen ze een ode aan haar net overleden vader wilde brengen, nam Mario Goossens (Triggerfinger), die haar eigenzinnigheid volgde, zijn drumsticks mee naar diezelfde Einstürzende Neubauten Studio (andereBaustelle) en namen daar op 1 week de 2-mans plaat BLOOD op. Met enkel bas , drums , vocals en Boris Wilsdorf als engineer werd dit album een voor de geschiedenis. Gelukkig worden we 100 jaar.

2025
Dit jaar bracht La KRaS! met Jan Bijvoet (Peaky Blinders) op gitaar, Tim Pensaert (Meltheads) op 2nd bass en Tom Meeuws (Armoedebestrijder) op drums een nieuw album uit op jawel - CASSETTE ! Een live opgenomen concert in Rockstar Recordings, die - hoe kan het ook anders - KRaS! @RockStarRecordings heet. En na een aantal single releases waar er
spraakmakende recensies over verschenen, is het nu tijd om tijdens hun nieuwe schrijffase, het nog onuitgegeven materiaal opgenomen in Berlijn op de wereld los te laten. Hier alvast SCHMUTZIG !

Een mijlpaal voor Emma Hessels

Emma Hessels heeft haar debuut-EP Constant Distance in een uitverkocht Trix Café voorgesteld. We kijken met trots terug op deze mooie show en blikken vol enthousiasme vooruit.

Emma heeft al een indrukwekkend parcours afgelegd. Ze verzorgde het voorprogramma voor artiesten als Mavis Staples, Cat Power en Jensen McRae, en stond afgelopen zomer op Best Kept Secret.

In 2026 zet ze die mooie lijn verder met onder meer Trix We Are Open (Antwerpen), een eerste headlineconcert in Nederland (Tolhuistuin, Amsterdam) en een optreden op het ontdekkingsfestival Motel Mozaïque (Rotterdam).

Na een reeks soloconcerten wordt Emma Hessels live versterkt door Nard Houdmeyers (Porcelain id) op gitaar en Fender Mackenson (Porcelain id) op piano.

Mille et une Facette(s) pour Les Nuits Secrètes !

La 24e édition des Nuits Secrètes se tiendra les 10, 11 et 12 juillet 2026 à Aulnoye-Aymeries. L'organisation présente les premiers noms à l'affiche, ainsi qu'une mascotte : elle est plutôt rigolote, et comme son nom l'indique, c'est une nouvelle "Facette" qui s'ajoute aux mille et une autres que le festival possède déjà.

Où que vous soyez, quelle que soit l'heure du jour ou de la nuit, invoquez son esprit : "Facette" viendra vous ouvrir des portes dérobées et des mondes secrets. Pour le reste, on reste sur nos appuis et notre savoir-fête légendaire. La programmation se plaît toujours autant à faire le grand écart entre artistes confirmés et en devenir. La promesse reste la même : offrir un moment de fête hors du temps mais ancré dans les réalités sociétales et environnementales de l'époque.

Aux Nuits Secrètes tout est authentique : ce n'est pas demain la veille que nous perdrons le Nord, bastion débordant d'humanité, de fête et d'énergie.

Even voorstellen - Eggs for Breakfast – Sad Sex Songs 

Eggs for Breakfast, de postpunkband uit de Vlaamse Ardennen, heeft zonet zijn nieuwe single Sad Sex Songs uitgebracht. Na enkele sterke debuutsingles wist de Oost-Vlaamse band deze zomer een plek te veroveren op de affiche van lokale evenementen en festivals zoals onder andere de Bierfeesten in Oudenaarde en Achterhof in Horebeke.

Voor deze nieuwste release trok de band de studio in bij Jannes Van Rossem van Dunkstudios. Het resultaat is een moderne, toegankelijke postpunktrack die zacht van start gaat, maar naar het einde toe uithaalt met een stevige gitaarmuur.

Colleen, aka multi-instrumentalist Cécile Schott, has announced her new album Libres antes del final, out March 20th, 2026. Along with the album's announcement, Schott has shared a string of special tour dates throughout the US and EU including a set at Long Play Festival, as well as the the clarion single "Antídoto," a sparkling whirlwind of synthesis. She elaborates on the track's place in the album:
"I think the album in general has a tense and at times rather dark energy, and "Antídoto," bang in the middle of the album, acts as the positive counterweight and joyful centerpiece. It is the sun-drenched, edgy reply to moments when you feel anger, it is my musical way of saying I can turn the situation upside down and build my own antidote to the negative feelings consuming me. It has the energy of "I'm not going to let things get in my way.”"

Schott sees the album as "an ode to movement, to the body, to water, to urgency; to repairing old wounds, overcoming personal blocks and starting all over again." The initial spark of Libres antes del final was borne of a realization perhaps best described by Schott herself:
“In April 2024, I made a decision that deeply impacted me, one on which I had procrastinated for years: learning to swim again, in the sea, after 30 years of water phobia. I longed for a reconnection to that feeling I had felt as a child swimming so freely and confidently, and when I moved to Barcelona in 2019, the sight of the Mediterranean Sea made me feel this limitation more and more acutely with each passing year. A show in the Azores in March 2024, corresponding to my 250th live show, functioned as a wakeup call for me: surrounded by this gorgeous environment where seeing dolphins is the norm, I realized I had to stop making excuses, and a month later, I finally contacted an open water teacher.
“I came to view the journey of learning to swim again as an adult as a powerful metaphor for what it’s like to learn to navigate life every single day, with each successive step feeling like a personal victory and milestone, in the unstable environment of the sea, its discomfort, the doubts about your abilities and the reality of facing your own limitations.

“I was especially blown away by the fact that it took me way longer to start to swim 5cm away from where my feet still touched the ground, than it subsequently took me to swim 250 meters away from the shore. Could this mean that everything in life works this way, that the first small step really is the hardest to take?”

The compositions of Colleen are as richly varied as they are precise. Each of Colleen’s albums is shaped by her predetermined distinct instrumentation and parameters, including works composed entirely of music boxes, pocket synthesizers, and baroque stringed instruments. The connective essence of Schott’s music is in her ability to create pieces within specificity that are both transcendently expansive and imbued with profound emotions. Libres antes del final is an album that reaches for the hope and desire to be truly freed from unnecessary suffering and harmful thoughts before reaching the end of one’s life cycle.
