Grammy winning artist Joe Jackson releases the second single from his forthcoming studio album Hope and Fury.
Fabulous People is a new song built on a tight, dance-leaning groove, pairing Jackson's melodic precision with the songwriter's classic bite and wit.

The new album Hope and Fury presents nine new songs recorded between Berlin and New York. Initial work began at Michael Tibes' Fuzz Factory studio in Berlin before Jackson returned to New York City to continue with co-producer Patrick Dillett at Reservoir Studios.

On the new album, Joe Jackson is joined by his longtime band – bassist Graham Maby (who has recorded and toured with Jackson since his debut album Look Sharp!), guitarist Teddy Kumpel, and drummer Doug Yowell – augmented by percussion of Peruvian musician Paulo Stagnaro.

The result might strike a fan as a cross between 2019's Fool, 1991's Laughter and Lust, and 1982's Night and Day.

Hope and Fury will be released on April 10th, 2026, on CD digisleeve, 180g vinyl LP gatefold, and digital.

This year, Joe Jackson and his band will tour extensively in support of Hope and Fury, with North American dates running from May to July, followed by a European tour from September to December.

Dividing his time between New York City and England's south coast, Jackson describes himself as "bicoastal" both geographically and musically – and the new album Hope and Fury as Bicoastal LatinJazzFunkRock.

Debuutalbum indie dance-rockband congratulations - Join Hands

congratulations weet op een bijzonder aanstekelijke manier genres te mixen met vooral een flinke dosis humor. Hun dansbare debuutalbum is dan ook een oproep om je zorgen even aan de kant te zetten en te genieten van de leuke dingen in het leven. 

Het album telt tien compacte tracks waarin de band rockmuziek met opzettelijke nonchalance en speelsheid benadert. Denk aan hoekige gitaren, gruizige baslijnen, onweerstaanbare hooks en een speelse, eigenzinnige sound die nergens te serieus wil zijn. De basis van Join Hands werd in korte tijd opgenomen om de energie en directheid van hun veelgeprezen live shows vast te leggen. Vervolgens kreeg het album samen met producer Luke Phillips (Icebeing) verder vorm, met als resultaat een levendige, chaotische en uitgesproken debuutplaat die barst van ideeën en karakter.

Even voorstellen – Echo Veins – debuutsingle ‘two shots’

Echo Veins is een nieuwe band uit Gent rond frontmannen Bob Caussyn (Kids With Buns, Mayorga) en Klaas Tomme (Iskander Moon, Vincent Coomans, Lady Linn, Stijn Meuris, Illuminine, St. Grandson).
De band maakt dromerige, gelaagde alternatieve rock die sterk leunt op sfeer en emotie, en perfect past voor de momenten tussen avond en nacht. Qua gevoel bewegen ze zich ergens tussen dEUS, Girls in Hawaii, Radiohead en Eels, maar met een duidelijke eigen klankwereld.

Op 6 februari 2026 brengt Echo Veins hun debuutsingle “Two Shots” uit.
Het nummer verkent het idee dat er altijd een keuze is, zelfs wanneer het leven aanvoelt als een herhaling zonder uitweg. De song balanceert tussen melancholie en hoop en nodigt uit om even stil te staan bij richting, twijfel en durf.
“Two Shots” is de eerste release uit de aankomende debuut-EP van Echo Veins.

Paradise City kondigt 30 nieuwe namen aan voor editie 2026, met o.a. Marlon Hoffstadt, Cassius en Mochakk

Na een uitzonderlijk jaar bouwt Paradise City Festival verder aan zijn elfde editie, die plaatsvindt op 26, 27 en 28 juni 2026 in de tuinen van Kasteel Ribaucourt in Steenokkerzeel. Het duurzame Belgische festival maakt vandaag 30 nieuwe artiestennamen bekend voor zijn 2026-programma, waaronder opvallende live acts, invloedrijke clubfiguren en de langverwachte terugkeer van Marlon Hoffstadt. De aankondiging volgt op een zomer waarin Paradise City zijn jubileumeditie volledig uitverkocht zag, en bevestigt het festival als een vaste waarde binnen de Europese elektronische muziekscene. Met zijn zorgvuldig gecureerde line-ups, sterke focus op beleving en een uitgesproken duurzaamheidsvisie blijft Paradise City zich onderscheiden in het internationale festivallandschap.

30 nieuwe namen, over scenes en generaties heen
Na eerder al namen als Richie Hawtin, Floating Points, De Jeugd van Tegenwoordig, Modeselektor en Job Jobse aan te kondigen, breiden de nieuw aangekondigde artiesten het muzikale spectrum van Paradise City verder uit. De line-up beweegt zich moeiteloos tussen clubcultuur, live elektronica en genre-overstijgende performances.
Onder de nieuwe toevoegingen bevinden zich opvallend veel live acts, waaronder Cassius, dat een exclusieve afscheidsshow zal spelen, Weval, Anthony Rother, SWIM, HENGE, John Beltran en Spriitzz. Daarmee onderstreept Paradise City opnieuw het belang van live performance als essentieel onderdeel van de festivalervaring.

Daarnaast brengt het programma een brede waaier aan invloedrijke selectors, cultfiguren en hedendaagse clubstemmen samen, met onder meer Mall Grab, Effy, Mochakk, Robag Wruhme, DJ Bone, Fumiya Tanaka, Francesco Del Garda, Rossi., Silva Bumpa, Saoirse, Qendresa, NVST, mischluft, Marsolo, Bibi Seck, Blck Mamba en SAIDAH, aangevuld met diverse samenwerkingen en back-to-back sets.

Een van de meest geanticipeerde returns is zonder twijfel Marlon Hoffstadt. Twee jaar geleden leverde hij volgens velen het meest legendarische optreden uit de recente geschiedenis van Paradise City af. Zijn terugkeer op zondag 28 juni belooft opnieuw een sleutelmoment te worden van de editie 2026.

Duurzaamheid als kernwaarde
Ook buiten de muziek blijft Paradise City een voortrekker. Eerder deze maand ontving het festival voor het zesde jaar op rij de Outstanding Certification van A Greener Future (AGF), waarmee het wereldwijd het enige festival is dat deze hoogste duurzaamheidsrating zo consequent behaalt.
De onafhankelijke audit benadrukte sterke prestaties op vlak van hernieuwbare energie, duurzame mobiliteit, afvalpreventie, food & beverage en zorg voor de omgeving. In 2025 werd ongeveer 66% van de totale energiebehoefte van het festival gedekt door hernieuwbare bronnen. Daarnaast zorgden elektrische shuttlebussen, nachttreinen en gerichte mobiliteitscampagnes ervoor dat meer dan 23.800 bezoekers met een lagere uitstoot naar het festival reisden (per trein, openbaar vervoer of fiets).
Voor de prestigieuze AGF Awards in Londen op 24 februari is Paradise City genomineerd voor goud in vijf categorieën, meer dan eender welk ander evenement behalve DGTL Festival uit Amsterdam:

Theater Aan Zee 2026 – Message in a bottle
Van woensdag 29 juli tot en met zaterdag 8 augustus 2026 spoelt de 29ste editie van het zomerse podiumkunstenfestival opnieuw aan in Oostende, verspreid over de vele mooie plekken van de stad. Met grote goesting maken we het thema én de golfbrekers van TAZ#2026 bekend.

Wat wil de zee ons vertellen?
Stel dat de zee ons per fles een boodschap toestuurt, aangespoeld op het strand.
Wat zouden we dan te lezen krijgen?
En in welke taal gaan we dan met elkaar in gesprek?
De zee die geeft en neemt. Die verhalen aanspoelt en weer meeneemt. Over wat zichtbaar wordt en wat onder de oppervlakte blijft woelen. Over donkere, mysterieuze dieptes vol vergeten dromen en verdwenen lichamen. Over wilde overgave en hoopvol verzet.
De zee die beschermt en vernietigt. Die werelden raakt, grenzen doet vervagen en mythen voortbrengt. Over zeemonsters en de wonderen van de diepzeewereld.

De Golfbrekers voor TAZ#2026
Met trots stelt artistiek leider Cindy Godefroi twee nieuwe Golfbrekers voor: twee uitgesproken stemmen die TAZ inhoudelijk openen, verdiepen en op scherp zetten. Vanuit hun eigen expertise en nieuwsgierige blik op de wereld verankeren zij het festival in de wereld van vandaag.
Walter Van Steenbrugge  - de zee als vrijheid onder druk                        
Walter Van Steenbrugge is advocaat, strafpleiter en voorvechter van fundamentele mensenrechten. Voor hem is de zee het ultieme beeld van vrijheid: open, grenzeloos, ongetemd. Maar wat als vrijheid kwetsbaar wordt en niet voor iedereen vanzelfsprekend? Tijdens TAZ wil hij fundamentele mensenrechten opnieuw scherpstellen en laat hij de stem van kinderen luid weerklinken. Helder, urgent en noodzakelijk.
Sarah Yu Zeebroek - de zee, intuïtief en vol overgave
Sarah Yu Zeebroek is kunstenaar, illustrator en muzikant met roots in China en aan de Noordzee. Zij ervaart de zee als een wezen met een eigen bewustzijn. Intuïtief. Niet het weten, maar het voelen. Haar werk nodigt uit tot vertrouwen op wat zich aandient. Tijdens TAZ zal zij op zee gaan met het publiek dat zich volledig overgeeft aan het onbekende en meedrijft op de muzikale baren van het moment. Ze zal het festival afsluiten met Roaring TAZ als viering van het leven: uitbundig, hoopvol en vol vuur, ondanks de schaduwen die ons soms besluipen.

FLYING LOTUS ANNOUNCES EP BIG MAMA
DEBUT RELEASE ON BRAINFEEDER RECORDS

Flying Lotus fans rejoice, today the famed electronic auteur announces BIG MAMA, a brand new EP coming out on 6th of March. It marks the long-overdue debut release from the producer – otherwise known as Steve Ellison – on his own Brainfeeder imprint: the Los Angeles based record label he founded almost two decades ago, which has gone on to release records from acclaimed artists like Thundercat, Hiatus Kaiyote, Kamasi Washington, and many more.

BIG MAMA captures Ellison in a moment of spontaneous, unbridled momentum. Densely packed with disparate sounds, rhythms, and effects, the EP delivers what he describes as "experimental, maximalist, hyperfast, electronic burst of energy", packing seven dynamic tracks into a single continuous composition in which every bar is unique, containing no loops throughout.

"I wanted it to feel like being shot out of a cannon, just explosive, unpredictable energy," he explains. "Like a fuckin' computer gone awry. Like a machine that had just lost its mind."

The BIG MAMA EP was created in the wake of a period of isolation spent directing and scoring his latest feature film, Ash, a process that saw him going back-to-basics in New Zealand with just his laptop and a controller. "It was like being in this hyperbolic time chamber, having to make a whole soundtrack alone. I felt like right after that I wanted to do anything but what I was just doing. So I started this project, and it felt like such a release to be able to have this place where I could just vent out some of my inner chaos"

Completed over two-months, the release sees Ellison take a markedly different approach to his production. Rather than sit down and work on individual tracks, he loaded up his studio with a host of new tricks and toys – using software synths to explore FM, wavetable and granular synthesis, alongside second-hand drum machines – and spent the first month creating a sketchbook of individual sounds for the next phase of the process. From there he began building the meticulous details of the BIG MAMA world, completing just 10-15 seconds of music a day, before stitching the fragments together into their final form: a thirteen-plus-minute stream-of-consciousness outpouring, unconstrained by tempo or style

"I wanted it to be free and feel alive. I think that was a big intention of mine with this record, just to think about it more like sound design and make something that felt unpredictable and maximal" he says. "As we get into a place where tracks are becoming more 'perfect' and things are becoming more sterile, I want to try to keep it interesting and try to keep bringing in things that are uniquely human to electronic music, which is, you know, becoming harder I guess."

The release features artwork by Christopher Ian Macfarlane, with whom Ellison found a kindred spirit through a shared love of the cartoons he grew up with: "that kind of Ren and Stimpy, Spümcø, SNICK (Saturday Night Nickelodeon) style... If you're my age, you know" he laughs. "He's just this super talented dude," he continues, "I really wanted an excuse to work with him, and this was that. I think I drove him crazy a little bit because I'm a little bit of a stickler on some things, but I hope that he's happy with the final product. It was a lot of fun."

That mischievous cartoon-aesthetic – which Ellison also attributes to his love of The Simpsons: "I've just accepted that they are my extended family, you know? I watch that shit all the time. It's just like my background in my life. So, I'm sure that they're in there somewhere" – makes BIG MAMA something of spiritual successor to 2010's Pattern+Grid World EP. Like that release it showcases the playful, dancier side to Flying Lotus, combining breakcore and IDM in a way only he can.

BIG MAMA is also a milestone as the first full Flying Lotus release on his own Brainfeeder imprint. Explaining the move he says: "I think it was just time at this point to work with the label that I built and work more closely with the team that's around me more. You know, we've been able to compete with some pretty big records in the world, we've been at the Grammys several times, and I think we've built a nice situation for ourselves, so why not? It's about time, I think!"

About Flying Lotus
For two decades now, Los Angeles' Steve Ellison, better known as Flying Lotus and Captain Murphy, has helped form and influence the shape of 21st century music. Growing up in LA, Ellison was immersed in a rich environment of artistic inspiration - with musical legends, Marilyn McLeod and Alice Coltrane in his family, and his interests spanned everything from beat-making to anime. By the late 2000s, his ability to incorporate jazz, hip-hop, and nebulous, futuristic elements had established him within LA's famed Low End Theory and beyond.His albums on Warp Records feature names like David Lynch and Erykah Badu, and he's produced on seminal records including Kendrick Lamar's To Pimp A Butterfly.  While he himself signed to the famous Warp Records label, Ellison began a label of his own, Brainfeeder, putting out music by Grammy-recognized artists such as Thundercat, George Clinton, Kamasi Washington, and Hiatus Kaiyote.  A visual creative as much as a sonic one, FlyLo draws equal praise for his live performances with their sophisticated visual projections, 3D animations, and avant-garde light displays. Naturally, that vision translates to a flair for the cinematic arts as well. In recent years, Ellison's creative output has expanded beyond releasing records and touring, establishing him as a true polymath. In addition to his iconic musical output, Ellison co-wrote, directed and scored a segment for the renowned found footage horror anthology V/H/S 99. His film Ash, starring Aaron Paul (Breaking Bad) and Eiza González (3 Body Problem) in which he served as both Director and Composer, was released earlier this year. He also composed music for and executive produced the Netflix anime series Yasuke and created the theme for Apple's Magic Johnson doc They Call Me Magic. In fall 2024 he delivered a musical surprise to fans with the upbeat, house-inspired Spirit Box EP featuring Dawn Richard and Sid Sriram, a pivot that proves Ellison is unconstrained by expectations, genre, or medium, and as a creative, remains impossible to predict.

De groep, bestaande uit drummer/bassist Tom Denolf, gitarist/toetsenist Wim Wallays en zanger Rino Feys, lijkt de stoner en harde rock van weleer van zich te hebben afgeschud, en omarmt vandaag een breed scala aan electronica en dansbeats. Lézard en Bettie Serveert toegevoegd aan line-up Rockwood Festival 2026

Rockwood Festival kondigt vandaag twee bijkomende namen aan voor de editie van 2026. Op zaterdag 1 augustus 2026 zijn Lézard en Bettie Serveert te zien in Lommel-Kattenbos (aan de Molen). Eerder werden al Noordkaap en Vive La Fête bevestigd.

Lézard staat bekend om energieke en onstuimige liveshows waarin postpunk, disco, glamrock, new wave en electroclash samenkomen. Met het debuutalbum Que Se Passe t-il groeide de band uit tot een internationale live-act. Ze stonden al op festivals als Pukkelpop, Best Kept Secret, Eurosonic, The Great Escape en MaMA Festival.

Met Bettie Serveert haalt Rockwood een vaste waarde uit de alternatieve rockscene naar Lommel. De Nederlandse band rond Carol van Dijk en Peter Visser brak begin jaren ’90 wereldwijd door met het album Palomine en bouwde sindsdien een indrukwekkende carrière uit. Meer dan dertig jaar later blijft Bettie Serveert intens, herkenbaar en relevant.

De toevoeging van Lézard en Bettie Serveert volgt op de eerdere aankondiging van Noordkaap en Vive La Fête en bevestigt de muzikale lijn van Rockwood Festival 2026. In de komende dagen maakt de organisatie dagelijks één of meerdere nieuwe artiesten bekend via de officiële sociale mediakanalen.

Rockwood Festival vindt plaats op zaterdag 1 augustus 2026 in Lommel-Kattenbos (aan de Molen).
