Oproer is proud to announce it will be releasing its second studio album called 'The Catch' which will be out on October 17, via V2 Records. Dark, danceable, ecstatic and recognizable. The Belgian band OPROER has been known to leave no one unmoved with their intoxicating mix of poppy alt rock and funky postpunk. Two years after their debut album We're All Late Tonight, the five-piece cuts deeper with follow-up The Catch, once again relentlessly serving highly infectious tunes and riffs.

When OPROER started to attract nationwide media attention by 2023, they had already gained an electrifying live reputation with their energetic and tight live shows, earning them a loyal fanbase. From supporting Fantastic Negrito on a successful European tour to selling out iconic venues like De Vooruit (Ghent) and Het Depot (Louvain), the only is undeniably up for Oproer. After a handful of singles and the Closed Session EP (recorded live in one take, 2021), the band released their debut We're All Late Tonight in late 2023: a collection of poppy/funky alt rock songs with an edge, presented with a sold-out and steamy release show at the Ancienne Belgique in Brussels.

On sophomore album The Catch, OPROER digs deeper, with frontman/lyricist Dries van der Schueren drawing inspiration from turbulent times. 'I lost a few people close to me, some people in the family were struggling with health issues and I'm completely swamped with a gruelling renovation, while feeling the need to write music and make a new album. It's a challenge to try and find a balance between the things happening around you and your own personal issues. That struggle runs through a lot of the songs, and my job as a therapist helped to pour some of that intense stuff in the songs.'

The feeling of chasing things, love, life, and trying to catch up, is a recurring theme throughout the album. But the album is also about all the different choices life has to offer, and how a choice that seems right at first may have consequences later. So, you ask yourself: what's the catch?

Despite the weighty themes, The Catch certainly doesn't feel heavy, thanks to the clever and catchy melodies by Jérôme Pringiers (keys), who writes most of the chord structures and arrangements. 'I usually start from a certain feeling. The last few months I've felt a lot of hope, so that's also where a lot of our melodies originated from. In contrast, Dries's lyrics are a bit darker and bleaker, and in a strange way that matched quite well.'

The result is a record that has a lot of energy and carries a certain hope and poppiness. The 80s synths on Cold Feet lift the song towards a dance-and-sing-along chorus, rapturous guitars shift the slightly darker theme of current single Sweet Fame. 'We feel that with this album we're closing the gap between who we are on record and what we do live. Unlike the previous record, we've made clear decisions more quickly on how a song would sound. It was obvious from the start whether a song would be hopeful or dark. The listener doesn't have to read between the lines for the meaning of the song, it's all pretty in your face.'

The Catch was recorded with Mathias Stal (producer/engineer/mixer), who also worked on Oproer's debut album and has collaborated with acts like Kids With Buns, Ise and Ramkot. The artwork is by Studio Koevoet, which also designed the artwork for first single Cold Feet and, by extension, are creating an entire new visual identity for OPROER. The Catch is out on 17 October and will be presented with a release show at the Ancienne Belgique on 6 December. Be careful! The original date of the show was Friday December 5th but due to circumstances on behalf of AB the concert has been moved  by one day to Saturday December 6th. We sincerely thank OPROER and their fans for their flexibility and understanding. OPROER has a few more gigs lined up this year, like Czech Republic and Sweden, before turning their heads to an exciting and busy spring and summer in 2026.

Minneapolis-based band POLIÇA today announces news of their sixth album Dreams Go, due out October 17 via Memphis Industries. POLIÇA delivers their most emotionally resonant and texturally rich work to date—a poignant meditation on loss, resilience, and the fragile beauty of holding on. Written and recorded in the shadow of bassist Chris Bierden's glioblastoma diagnosis, the album is both elegy and act of preservation, capturing the band at a moment of profound transition.

To accompany the announcement, they share the album title track. Commenting on the track Channy Leaneagh says, "It's an anthem for the dreams we swallow, bury away while life goes on without them."

Since their emergence from Minneapolis' vibrant underground in 2011, POLIÇA has carved out a singular space in electronic indie-pop, blending shadowy synths, pulsating rhythms, and the unmistakable vocal presence of Channy Leaneagh—a voice that bends and refracts like light through water, shaped by intricate processing yet deeply human at its core. Co-founded by producer Ryan Olson, the band's alchemy has long been defined by its balance of warmth and detachment, with Chris Bierden's melodic bass lines and the dueling drums of Ben Ivascu and Drew Christopherson anchoring their hypnotic sound.

Their upcoming LP, Dreams Go, is a collection of eight new songs recorded at Pachyderm Studio in Minnesota, marking the band's final sessions with Bierden before he lost the ability to play bass. The record pulses with a raw, elegiac energy, a testament to the chemistry that defined POLIÇA's first decade.

While Bierden can no longer perform live, POLIÇA presses forward with a new addition of Alex Nutter, reimagining themselves once more with a new touring lineup. Produced by Olson and featuring guest production by Stockholm-based techno producer Peder Mannerfelt, Dreams Go doesn't just memorialize the past—it propels the band into the next phase of their evolution, proving that reinvention has always been part of their DNA.

Though born of grief, Dreams Go is anything but static. It breathes, shimmers, and ultimately insists on the power of making art in the face of uncertainty. Whether or not POLIÇA continues beyond this release, Dreams Go stands as a moving testament to the band's creative bond—and to Bierden's indelible role within it.

The Vices release their deluxe album Before It Might Be Gone (Deluxe Edition). With this release, the Groningen-based band opens a new chapter for their third record, which came out earlier this year. While the original album revolved around self-reflection, change, and unconditional love, the deluxe edition brings a fierce zest for life, live energy, and a glimpse into the wide range of influences the band loves, yet have never shown before. As the icing on the cake, they'll perform at the Ziggo Dome on December 4th as the opening act for Kensington, embark on a major fall tour, and see their earlier single Gold featured in the upcoming EA Sports game Skate 4.

One of the highlights of the deluxe edition is the new single I Know. The track bursts with energy and captures the tension of modern life, it's filled with anger, but also an undeniable lust for life. I Know reflects on how our generation grows up in a world completely transformed by technology: social interactions have become fleeting, there's constant pressure to be loved and seen, and news and information flow endlessly, yet often without trust or grounding. The result is an alienated reality, a kind of "shangri-la" that appears beautiful but is, at the same time, deceptive.

Written with Charlie Andrew (known for his work with Alt-J and David Gilmour), I Know touches on that painful nerve: the fear of not being enough, the lack of stability and deep connections, and the despair that comes with it. Yet, the song doesn't sound like a lament, it's a fist forward. It's angry, but also full of vitality: an anthem for a generation trying to find its own way to handle the chaos.

For the band itself, this track also played a crucial role. Within The Vices, ideas didn't always align perfectly, and that creative tension is what shines through in this song. It sounds raw, honest, and uncompromising, as if the band is reinventing itself right before your ears.

Alongside I Know, the deluxe edition features a surprising cover of Black Sabbath's War Pigs, giving the song a fresh twist fueled by today's burning world while paying homage to Ozzy and Sabbath. With this cover, The Vices showcase how vital the energy of live performance and improvisation is to them.
