Even voorstellen – De Amerikaanse band Portugal. The Man – new album, ‘Shish’
Op 7 november brengen ze het album SHISH uit. Hierop staan tien tracks vol rauwe eerlijkheid en spanning, verpakt in hun kenmerkende warped pop sound.
Deze zomer verraste de band hun publiek met de EP uLu Selects Vol. 2 en de single Denali. Sinds het platina album Woodstock en de Grammy-winnende wereldhit Feel It Still blijft Portugal. The Man grenzen verleggen. Van SHISH verscheen de double single Tanana / Mush die centraal staan voor de sound van Portugal The Man: van de intieme intensiteit van Tanana tot de explosieve uitbarsting van Mush.
Naast hun muzikale prestaties, loopt ook hun langdurige betrokkenheid bij sociale rechtvaardigheid als een rode draad door hun werk. Juist in die kruisbestuiving tussen kunst en activisme weet Portugal. The Man te floreren; gedurende hun carrière heeft de band steeds laten zien hoe je je oprecht kunt toewijden aan zowel artistieke expressie als maatschappelijke betrokkenheid. Dit inspireerde hen uiteindelijk om in 2020 de Pass The Mic Foundation op te richten, met een focus op universele thema's als mensenrechten, volksgezondheid en het milieu; met bijzondere aandacht voor kwesties die direct van invloed zijn op inheemse volkeren.

ROSALÍA heeft haar nieuwe single en videoclip 'Berghain' uitgebracht, een voorproefje van haar aankomende album 'LUX', dat op 7 november verschijnt. Het nummer is een meeslepende, orkestrale samenwerking met Björk en Yves Tumor, gezongen in Duits, Spaans en Engels. Het groeit van intiem en kwetsbaar naar groots en filmisch, precies wat je van ROSALÍA verwacht. De videoclip, geregisseerd door haar vaste partner Nicolás Méndez en opgenomen in Warschau, volgt een vrouw die leert omgaan met verlies en haar kracht hervindt via spiritualiteit.
'LUX' werd door ROSALÍA zelf geproduceerd, samen met The London Symphony Orchestra en artiesten als Carminho, Estrella Morente, Silvia Pérez Cruz en anderen.

Volume 18 in de Bootleg Series van Bob Dylan verzamelt zeldzame Columbia Records outtakes en liveopnames van club dates, van jam-sessies en bij vrienden thuis. De muziek schetst hoe de legendarische artiest volwassen wordt als songwriter en performer, van Minnesota tot Greenwich Village in de vroege jaren ‘60.

De soundtrack bij de flm ‘The Thin Red Line’ uit 1998 is van de hand van Hans Zimmer. Hans Zimmer gebruikte hier Aziatische instrumenten zoals de Shakuhachi en de Koto. De soundtrack won de 'Best Original Score' award op de Satellite Awards. Deze nieuwe versie verschijnt bij Music On Vinyl op 1.000 genummerde stuks op aquamarine blauw vinyl.

Even voorstellen - TARMAK – nieuw album Delete to Proceed verschijnt op 7 november 2025
Na drie ambitieuze singles en maanden van opbouw brengt het Gentse post-rock/post-metaltrio TARMAK op 7 november zijn eerste volledige album uit: Delete to Proceed.
De plaat vormt één geheel: zes hoofdstukken die samen een duister sci-fi verhaal vertellen over menselijke vooruitgang, vervreemding en de drang om telkens opnieuw te beginnen.
Muzikaal beweegt TARMAK zich tussen sferische post-rock en zwaardere post-metal, met veel aandacht voor spanning, groove en contrast. De nummers vloeien in elkaar over als scènes uit één verhaal: van mechanische spanning tot atmosferische ontladingen.
Het resultaat is een album dat zowel technisch als emotioneel zijn eigen koers vaart.
Elk nummer kreeg een eigen videoclip, die samen één doorlopend verhaal vormen. Live vertaalt de band dit concept naar het podium, met visuals die achter hen worden geprojecteerd en beeld en geluid laten samensmelten tot één intense ervaring.
De afgelopen maanden verschenen al drie singles – Careless CRISPR, Blue Renewed en Ark of Nowhere – die elk een deel van het verhaal onthullen. Met Delete to Proceed komt het volledige universum tot leven.
“We wilden een album maken dat voelt als een wereld waar je even in kunt verdwijnen,”
zegt frontman Sander Vergote. “Het gaat over de cyclus van creëren en loslaten: in wetenschap, in maatschappij, en in onszelf.”

Ontdek de headliners voor zondag 21 juni
Een nieuwe dag, nieuwe namen voor #GMM26! Na de aankondigingen van de headliners voor donderdag, vrijdag en zaterdag hebben we nu de eerste namen voor zondag 21 juni! Op zondag sluit Sabaton de South Stage af en staat Def Leppard bovenaan de planning voor de North Stage. Ook Electric Callboy (South Stage) en Alice Cooper (North Stage) komen die dag naar Dessel.
Het Zweedse Sabaton heeft geen introductie meer nodig. Al sinds 2007 is de band rond Joakim Brodén en Pär Sundström een graag geziene gast in Dessel. We verwelkomen hen al voor de negende keer. Eerder deze maand brachten ze hun elfde studioalbum ‘Legends’ uit, een verzameling nieuwe oorlogsverhalen in hun kenmerkende Sabaton-stijl. Zoals altijd kun je een spetterende show vol vuur en meezingmomenten verwachten.
Al meer dan 45 jaar zorgt Def Leppard voor pure, no-nonsense rock. Het grote publiek leerde hen kennen met hits als ‘Animal’ en ‘Pour Some Sugar On Me’ van hun doorbraakalbum ‘Hysteria’ uit 1987, maar echte hardrockfans kenden hen al sinds ‘High ‘n’ Dry’ en ‘Pyromania’. Met hun unieke mix van hardrock, catchy hooks en vocale harmonieën verkochten ze meer dan 100 miljoen albums en inspireerden ze talloze andere bands.
We’ve got the moves! Vergeet zeker je dansschoenen niet op zondag 21 juni, want de Duitsers van Electric Callboy maken er een onvergetelijk feest van. In 2024 wisten ze de weide volledig op zijn kop te zetten met hun mix van pompende beats, scheurende riffs en energieke vibes. Volgende zomer doen ze dit nog eens over op GMM 2026.
Ook shockrocklegende Alice Cooper is deze editie van de partij. Nadat hij in 2024 zijn album ‘Road’ kwam voorstellen, keert Alice Cooper in 2026 terug met zijn nieuwe plaat ‘The Revenge of Alice Cooper’. Ondertussen staat Alice Cooper al meer dan vijf decennia bekend om zijn theatrale liveshows, vol nepbloed, boa’s, guillotines en hits als ‘School’s Out’, ‘Poison’, ‘Billion Dollar Babies’ en ‘No More Mr. Nice Guy’.
Over GMM: Vier dagen lang wordt Dessel tijdens Graspop Metal Meeting 2026 opnieuw het epicentrum van de hardrock- en metalwereld. Vijf podia, machtige headliners, razende riffs, opkomend metalgeweld en gigantische moshpits die de aarde doen beven. Voor de 29ste editie brengt Graspop Metal Meeting de absolute top van de metal- en hardrockscene naar België. Van 18 tot en met 21 juni 2026 verzamelen duizenden metalheads zich opnieuw voor het grootste en meest diverse metalfestival van de Benelux. GMM 2026: dit wil je niet missen!

'Reunited Again Around A Common Quest' is the first single of the debut album of Mobilhome. 'That Tough Tender' is to be released the 9th of January 2026 on Mokuhi Sonorities.
Mobilhome is an initiative of Brussels based pianist and composer Camille-Alban Spreng. Following the over kitch statement: "music is where your home is", the band explore the boundaries between subtlety and chaos frantically borrowing from various traditions such as kraut rock, post-punk, and improvised music. Happily mixing electronic ambiant improvisations, deep wild distorted riffs and imaginary bel canto, the eleven tracks album is an attempt to translate into music that strange feeling we get when we try to recount or write down a dream. Overall Camille-Alban likes to describe this project as an avant-garde jazz band for birdsongs lovers. Mobilhome also features Sam Comerford on tenor saxophone playing the role of lead singer, Vitja Pauwels on unpredictable guitar, Lennart Heyndels on electric bass and Théo Lanau on drums.

Camille-Alban Spreng is a Brussels-based pianist and composer, trained by Emil Spanyi (HEMU, Lausanne) and Kris Defoort (KCB, CRB, Brussels). He is active on Belgian and European stages in a variety of fields, including jazz, improvised music, performance and theater. Beside his band Mobilhome, Camille-Alban also plays with ODIL (Sam Comerford, Geoffrey Fiorese, Tom Bourgeois, and Paul Berne). Their 3rd album, released on W.E.R.F. Records is a collaboration with singer Nina Kortekaas (Noa Lee, Sylvie Kreusch, Portland), and an hommage to beatnik authors and Allen Ginsberg.
In 2022, he founded trio Dear Uncle Lennie with guitarist Benjamin Sauzereau and Marco Giongrandi on banjo. They released two records: a first album in 2022 on Yolk and a second one in 2025 on BMC Records.
Camille-Alban also plays with the bands Limite (Alice Perez, Benjamin Sauzereau, Jordi Cassagne, Théo Lanau) and Bodies (Alejandra Borzyk, Mateusz Malcharek, Elie Gouleme) and he's the co-organizer and curator of the Pool Sessions, a concert series dedicated to improvised and experimental music.

Graspop 2026 – van 18 juni t-m 21 juni 2026 - Meer nieuwe namen voor #GMM26! - De headliners voor zaterdag 20 juni
Met de aankondiging van de eerste bands voor donderdag en vrijdag staat de teller voor #GMM26 al op zes namen. Tijd voor vier nieuwe acts! Op zaterdag 20 juni sluit Bring Me the Horizon de South Stage af en doet Bad Omens de lichten uit op de North Stage. Architects (South Stage) en BABYMETAL (North Stage) zijn die dag ook van de partij.
Na hun laatste passage in 2024 staat Bring Me the Horizon in 2026 opnieuw op Graspop Metal Meeting. Dankzij hun unieke mix van metalcore, alternatieve rock en elektronische invloeden kan je ze tot een van de meest toonaangevende bands van hun generatie rekenen. Met albums als ‘Sempiternal’ en ‘That’s the Spirit’ brak de band echt helemaal door bij het grote publiek. Live staat de band garant voor een visueel verbluffende show die zal overdonderen, iets wat ze twee jaar geleden al hebben laten zien.
Dat het snel kan gaan, bewijst Bad Omens. De Amerikaanse band rond frontman Noah Sebastian groeide in geen tijd uit tot een van de meest besproken namen in de moderne metalwereld. In 2022 verscheen hun laatste album ‘The Death of Peace of Mind’, maar ondertussen werkt de band aan een nieuwe langspeler. In december staan ze nog in Vorst Nationaal (Brussel) en volgende zomer staan ze met nieuw materiaal op #GMM26!
Net zoals Bring Me The Horizon behoort Architects tot de meest toonaangevende metalcoreacts uit het Verenigd Koninkrijk. De band bracht begin dit jaar hun elfde studioalbum ‘The Sky, the Earth & All Between’ uit. In 2024 braken de Britten nog vakkundig onze North Stage af, en nu keren ze terug om de South Stage onder handen te nemen. Blegh!
Met hun unieke mix van J-pop en metal, ook wel bekend als Kawaii metal, stonden de dames van BABYMETAL in 2024 al op het podium in Dessel. In 2026 keren ze terug naar GMM met hun vijfde studioalbum ‘Metal Forth’, dat in augustus verscheen. Klaar voor een unieke show?
Over GMM: Vier dagen lang wordt Dessel tijdens Graspop Metal Meeting 2026 opnieuw het epicentrum van de hardrock- en metalwereld. Rough Trade Records are excited to announce a new stand-alone single by Lankum. Originally created for an Oona Doherty dance show ‘Specky Clark’ at Sadler’s Well earlier this year, the single is a devastatingly powerful and otherworldly interpretation of The Specials’ 1981 number one ‘Ghost Town’. ‘Ghost Town’ will be released on 12” vinyl format in Jan 2026 featuring an elaborate etching on the b-side. Rough Trade Records are also excited to share the news that Lankum have now extended their contract with the label for multiple future albums and releases.
Lankum explain how the track came about; “Ghost Town came to us through some curious circumstances. Oona Doherty, who we were familiar with through her phenomenal dance work on the video for Gilla Band’s ‘Shoulderblades’, contacted us and told us about a new show she was putting together. It was about her great-great-grandfather being sent to Belfast as a child to live with his aunts and work in an abattoir. She wanted a new piece of music for the show, for a party scene set on Halloween night, and told us she wanted it to start out indistinguishable and woozy, before developing into the very recognisable track by The Specials. At first we were slightly reticent, since a cover of a ska tune wasn’t something we’d usually ever consider, but after a bit of deliberation we decided we’d give it a shot, and the result took us on an incredibly enjoyable journey that had us gleefully playing with synthesisers and drum machines in Hellfire Studios, trying to come up with the scaldiest 90s sounding techno for the outro section of the track.
We’re very excited with the end product and delighted that Oona approached us and challenged us to step out of our comfort zone. It’s an honour to be releasing a version of this iconic tune, and it feels eerily relevant to be referencing yet again themes of urban decay, economic hardship and working class frustration.

Oona Doherty quote: "I was listening to Lankum and it inspired me to write this dance theatre play called ‘Specky Clark’ using a lot of their music. But for one scene which happens on Halloween night Samhain. I asked the band could they make me a cover of ‘Ghost Town’ by The Specials. And they bloody did. ‘All the clubs have been closed down’. I think this line still hits hard all these years later and in a dub accent speaks to housing crises, the poverty, the privatization of Ireland. They also managed to make the track rip through this physical plane of existence and dance in the other world…. only Lankum can do that."
Leonn Ward quote: “The first time I heard the track it floored me. Pure emotion and strength. The fractured world we live in today is in plain sight. There’s a weight and uncertainty more than ever, in my lifetime anyway. So it was important to both myself and Lankum to create a piece of work that felt honest; one that didn’t shy away from vulnerability yet carried lightness and perseverance all at once without overpowering it. It’s not about despair, it’s about resilience. The track holds immense power and I wanted to echo that, creating something with a real sense of endurance and resistance, a reflection of how people try to hold on to meaning in a collapsing world. I centred the band in the car as a nod to the iconic original video for ‘Ghost Town’ by The Specials. And there was something powerful about these two scenes together; the strength from the band performing in the car merged with the man’s solitary journey, they begin to speak to one another. And though they never meet, there’s a sense that they’re sending each other something; strength, endurance, hope.”

American singer and storyteller Sheherazaad returns today with new single Gulukara (Songstress), featuring childhood friend and Kodaikanal-bred rapper Irfana. The song is a nocturnal hymn highlighting the historical confluence of sex work and female artistry. It’s a lewd, yet wizened dialogue between two songstresses who converse in the belly of an urban underworld. Their gift for song is both exalted and profaned; their bells tarnished, and their harmonies veined with smoky fatigue. Hovering between carol and dirge, the piece unfolds with a spectral sparseness, a bare-boned brittle ingenuity. Against this fragile scaffolding, Sheherazaad’s voice emerges not as ornament but as apparition: ghostly, wounded, yet defiant.
Sheherazaad’s first EP for Erased Tapes, Qasr, was released in spring 2024 to widespread acclaim, and has since been on the road, performing the songs and new compositions, working out arrangement and structure of the material whilst on stage with her band.
This summer saw performances across Europe and UK this past summer, including notably performances at Fusion and Deershed festivals, and a sold out London headline at Servant Jazz Quarters. Sheher and her band will return to Europe for a run across theatres in Belgium in January.

Lawijtstrijd - Lawijtstrijd - Muziekconcours Waasland
LAWIJSTRIJD, het legendarische muziekconcours van het Waasland is terug in een samenwerkingsverband van De Casino Concertzaal, Lokerse Feesten, Crammerock en jeugdhuizen Den Eglantier (De Nest), De Cramme en Okapi. De wedstrijd wordt ondersteund door Cultuurtuin Waas (Interwaas) en de stads- en gemeentebesturen van Lokeren, Sint- Niklaas en Stekene. (zie info site )
AFTRAP: Drie spots worden vrijgehouden voor jonge talenten uit de buurt die hun kans willen wagen om op één van onze podia te spelen die dag. Zij ontvangen naast podiumervaring en eeuwige roem ook catering en drankbonnen voor een dolle avond. Concreet zijn we op zoek naar allround dj’s, maar ook dj’s en live acts uit de hardere en experimentele elektronische genres zijn welkom met hun inzendingen.
De Tijdloze: Tijd voor 90: De Tijdloze en De Casino slaan jaarlijks de handen in elkaar om het muziekrepertoire van de gouden jaren negentig te vieren. Ontstaan als eindejaarslijst op Studio Brussel en na 35 jaar uitgegroeid tot een muzikaal begrip, vervelde De Tijdloze (100) in 2018 tot een onafhankelijk online radiokanaal (VRT MAX / DAB+) waar onder meer Stijn Van De Voorde (For Those About To Rock) en Roos Van Acker (Jouw Tijdloze Ochtenradio) de pop- en rockgeschiedenis alle eer aandoen. Liefhebbers van nostalgische hits kunnen sindsdien afstemmen op deze volwassen geworden digitale stream om er vierentwintig uur per dag, zeven dagen per week de beste klassiekers te beluisteren.
GREAT GIGS IN THE PARK Tien extraordinaire concertavonden De Casino Concertzaal en het stadsbestuur Sint-Niklaas presenteren een derde editie van Great Gigs in the Park. Deze reeks openluchtconcerten, die plaatsvinden in de feeërieke setting van het historische Casino Park (DC terras), wordt dit jaar gespreid over drie weken (van woensdag 14 juni tot donderdag 6 juli) en bundelt in die periode tien extraordinaire openluchtshows op de Casino[1]kiosk. Gezelligheid is het codewoord tijdens Great Gigs in the Park, want voor elk concertavonden worden slechts 600 tickets aangeboden. Programma De line-up van Great Gigs in the Park biedt een staalkaart van waar de Casino voor staat, zijnde een veelheid aan uiteenlopende muziekgenres: van hardrock en post-metal over elektrofunk en groove tot roots en droompop. De Casino presenteert ook elke concertavond een uitgekiende support-act: laureaten van Lawijtstrijd, speerpunten uit de Brusselse elektrojazz-hype, punk-calamiteiten, een crossover tussen doom en oriëntal, maar ook western swing-adepten en singer-songwriters.
