Following the release of three critically acclaimed albums for heralded UK label 4AD, British producer & composer SOHN has built a solid fanbase with his unique brand of emotionally rich songwriting and distinctive production. This success of these records led to him working with artists such as BANKS, Kwabs, Rhye and Lana Del Rey, where his transcendent and intricate productions married analog warmth with modern minimalism, creating a powerful sentimental honesty that runs through even his most electronically driven compositions. Hailing originally from London, his musical journey has seen him call Vienna and Los Angeles home, before settling in the forested region of Garraf, Spain.
Having spent time finding solace in his home studio, SOHN now announces the launch of his newly-minted label imprint adaptpivotmove, a home for exploratory, process-driven music that exists outside the boundaries of traditional song form, providing a perfect home for his stirring and elegant new album Albadas (Dawn Songs), announced today for an October 10th release.
Albadas (Dawn Songs) signals a quiet shift in SOHN's creative process, exploring emotion through sound alone rather than through lyrics The album's title is drawn from the Spanish word albada—meaning "dawn song"—and reflects a deeply personal ritual that emerged during a period of emotional and creative upheaval.
Known for his ability to merge analog warmth with contemporary minimalism, the first single 'Let Go' opens with a repetitive, meditative synth setting a spacious tone. Subtle piano phrases gradually weave in, before a single sustained note takes over, intended to symbolise the rising sun, stretching across the sonic landscape.
SOHN explains: "Let Go is a gentle awakening. I captured it live just as the sun's rays found their way into my studio and I hope I somehow channeled that into the sound." In contrast, 'Ascent' starts with a sweeping, wave-like synth, layered with dissonant bursts of melody resulting in an airy, floating tension. He expands: "Ascent was improvised when I awoke feeling anxious, uneasy. The track ended up with a sort of epic conclusion that to me sounds like hope and possibility."
The upcoming album is a quiet, contemplative work that foregrounds melody, mood, and texture. It's music created in the first moments of the early light, at times contemplative, patient and optimistic, at others foreboding and ominous. It encapsulates the potential of a new day and the many roads it may present. On the creation of the record, SOHN explains: "Given what had been happening in the news cycle, words and songs felt somehow inappropriate, and I really struggled to convey emotion in a way that satisfied me," SOHN shares. "I began a morning practice of improvisation—capturing my moods and thoughts before the day began. In a time when words were failing me, these dawn songs came to my rescue."
The album is accompanied by a short film of the same name, created by Catalan artists Carla Cervantes Caro and Mònica Figueras Domènech, shot during their own dawn rituals. Filmed in the Empordà region of Spain in the early hours, the piece is a poetic exploration of observation, hope, fear, and ultimately, love. A reflective and dynamic listening experience, i is the opening of an intriguing new chapter for SOHN, one which focuses on pure, honest creativity and harnessing the essence of what makes us human.

Anderzijds heb je een gefragmenteerde melodie op een vloeiend swingritme. Die contrasten zorgen ervoor dat je middenin een storm staat. Cabaret Vert 2025 - 4 jours en bleu et ensemble
Tenue sous un ciel radieux, l'édition 2025 du Cabaret Vert a rassemblé 101 000 festivaliers épris de découvertes, de liberté et d'émotions. Concerts, BD, cinéma, débats : chaque espace a porté l'énergie collective du festival et ouvert une parenthèse hors du temps. Marquée par ses engagements durables et par le brassage des générations, cette Blue Edition rappelle combien nous avons besoin de nous retrouver pour vibrer ensemble. La preuve ? Jeudi 14 août
Et le vainqueur est... Alendre. Le jeune homme venu de l'Oise est en effet le premier festivalier à pénétrer sur l'enceinte du Cabaret Vert ce jeudi, succédant au palmarès à Didier, lauréat en 2024. "Je suis arrivé trois heures avant l'ouverture, puis j'ai entendu qu'il y avait une petite course qui était organisée, alors j'ai décidé de m'y greffer. La prochaine fois, j'essaierai de venir avec une tenue plus adaptée", s'amusait le Picard en pointant ses souliers et sa chemise, accoutrement peu conseillé pour s'adonner à un effort physique sous le soleil ardennais. À quelques heures du concert de Sprints (ça ne s'invente pas!) sur la scène Razorback , c'est en tout cas armé de ses sandales sanglées qu'il a ainsi ouvert aux autres festivaliers de cette dix-neuvième édition la voie vers le Paradise. Cela tombe bien, car c'est aussi le nom d'un titre phare de l'artiste qu'il attendait le plus : DJ Snake. Le DJ-producteur franco-algérien a repris le flambeau de Jamie XX pour boucler cette première soirée de festival en mettant le feu aux Ardennes depuis la scène Zanzibar, devant un parterre plein à craquer. Quelques heures plus tôt, Big Flo & Oli faisaient monter la température de plusieurs crans en accueillant Adèle Castillon pour un featuring inattendu, puis en réalisant le rêve du jeune artiste local Letsey. Originaire de Verdun et grand admirateur du duo, Théo, de son vrai nom, est passé de la fosse à la scène. Une récompense dont il se souviendra longtemps, glanée à la suite d'un défi TikTok initié par les rappeurs toulousains lors duquel il s'est particulièrement illustré. Le genre de dédicace que ne renierait pas ce fan hardcore de BD qui, la nuit précédente, a campé devant les portes du Cabaret Vert en attendant l'ouverture, dans le but de faire signer ses ouvrages par ses auteurs favoris avant que leurs stands ne soient pris d'assaut. Preuve que l'on n'est jamais trop obstiné, comme en témoignent ces jeunes Ardennais qui ont tenté de pénétrer sur le site du festival durant la nuit par voie fluviale, avant de voir leur barque rattrapée par la sécu. L'année prochaine, privilégiez des tickets early bird.
Vendredi 15 août
Jour de duels au sommet. À Charleville-Mézières où les festivaliers font face à un sacré casse-tête : Theodora versus Sean Paul. Lequel de ces deux poids lourds choisir ? Hasard du calendrier, les concerts des deux têtes d'affiche étaient en effet programmés quasi-simultanément, sur le Greenfloor et Zanzibar. Fallait-il demander à ChatGPT d'opérer ce choix cornélien? Pas forcément si l'on en croit la conférence programmée deux jours plus tard sur l'espace L'Idéal consacrée au "coût écologique de l'IA". Mieux valait donc écouter son cœur, à l'image de ce jeune homme qui a formulé sa demande en mariage devant la foule en délire lors du set de la chanteuse franco-congolaise. Verdict ? She said yes ! Booba dirait plutôt qu'elle est Validée, comme son célèbre tube. Sur Zanzibar, le Duc, en outfit bleu-blanc-rouge, était le clou de la soirée qui ponctuait cette journée à 30 000 festivaliers, aussi marquée par les prestations de Zaho de Sagazan et SDM. Une affluence record, pour le plus grand bonheur des stands de merch : le maillot de football vert et noir, grande nouveauté de 2025 du côté de la boutique, est déjà sold out. Pas de panique : il sera disponible sur le tout nouveau e-shop qui devrait ouvrir à l'automne prochain pour subvenir à la demande massive. Ne dit-on pas que gouverner, c'est prévoir ? Un constat aussi valable en matière artistique : le groupe de punk américain Upchuck annule sa venue à la dernière minute ce vendredi... Il est remplacé au pied levé par les Français de Revnoir.
Samedi 16 août
Malgré la venue des très attendus Queens of the Stone Age, contraints d'annuler leur présence en 2024, l'heure n'est pas au retour de l'âge de pierre mais bel et bien à l'innovation. Plusieurs visiteurs ont mis au point un GPS dernier cri pour se retrouver sans difficulté au milieu d'une foule de 23 000 personnes : un ballon gonflé à l'hélium attaché à un sac à dos. Ce système de géolocalisation low-tech s'avère redoutablement efficace puisqu'il permet d'être repéré par son groupe d'amis via un petit dirigeable flottant au-dessus des têtes. Une fois dégonflé, il peut aussi permettre de les semer pour visionner discrètement les films de la Carte Blanche Bruxelles Porn Festival prévue ce samedi soir à L'Idéal Cinéma. Un artifice auquel n'a pas eu recours Niktus pour se faire remarquer. D'une part, car la FFF a donné un concert endiablé unanimement salué, et d'autre part, car le bassiste arborait sur scène une cagoule à l'effigie de Sulli, personnage phare de Monstre et Cie, tout en mâchouillant un mediator. À l'image de leur style musical, le combo francilien a mis la foule de Razorback en fusion, avant de passer le relais aux Marseillais de LANDMVRKS pour un set metalcore démentiel, générateur de nombreux pogos. Des vagues comparables au remue-ménage provoqué par la statue de Goldorak côté Bandes Dessinées. Rien que ce jour, plus de 400 clichés furent comptabilisés aux côtés du formidable robot des temps nouveaux. Goldorak, go !
Dimanche 17 août
Vampire Weekend fait l'unanimité côté Zanzibar et pour les mordus du rendez-vous ardennais, sachez que les dates de l'édition 2026 sont connues ! Dimanche après-midi, lors de sa conférence de presse bilan, la direction du festival a annoncé que le prochain Cabaret Vert se tiendrait du 20 au 23 août 2026. D'ici là, il faudra patienter de longues soirées d'hiver, et les membres d'Idles l'ont bien compris, eux qui terminent leur set par une version de All I Want for Christmas de Mariah Carey a capella. À propos de karaoké géant, Julien Doré s'autorise une reprise des Démons de Minuit pour le plus grand plaisir des amateurs de "qui ça qui ça?" présents en fosse. Au final, la Blue Edition aura rassemblé 101 000 festivaliers venus chercher des souvenirs que même le plus chevronné des Men in Black ne saurait dissiper. Venu avec son flow mais sans son flash, Will Smith a conclu cette dix-neuvième édition, quelques heures après avoir donné un mini-concert à destination des bénévoles lors de ses balances. Classe. Fair play toujours, le DJ français Myd s'est excusé maintes fois pour la seule fausse note de son live incandescent: son lapsus "Bonsoir le Cabaret Sauvage". L'artiste a confondu le festival avec une emblématique salle de spectacle parisienne. C'est pardonné. Pas de quoi vexer Julien Sauvage, le directeur du Cabaret Vert, qui a affirmé sa volonté de renforcer l'ouverture internationale du festival dès les prochaines échéances. Un choix qui ne devrait pas entâcher le succès d'une autre spécialité locale : le pâté en croûte, dont les tranches, vendues à la sortie du site, ont rassasié les derniers festivaliers dans la nuit de dimanche à lundi. Welcome to Miami. Ou plutôt : rendez-vous à Charleville-Mézières, du 20 au 23 août 2026, pour la 20ᵉ édition !

They Are Gutting a Body of Water (TAGABOW), Philadelphia's "shoegaze scene's greatest exports" (Stereogum), release "the chase," the third single/video from their new album, LOTTO, out October 17th via Julia's War x Smoking Room x ATO Records. Following "trainers" and "american food," "the chase" is gorgeously volatile. It opens on the chime of church bells before bursting into Dulgarian's confessional account of a relapse. "I woke up that morning rapidly nose-diving into fentanyl withdrawal, and recognized the light in Emily's face," he recalls. "I became aware of the same fact that has presented itself in my life countless times, what becomes the very mission statement of the record: living in truth is a practice, and it's never too late to get real again." The lyrics are especially vivid, bolstered by a sonic intensity: "I dream of teeth falling out // I dream of swimming through dirt // and later wake up in a pool of sweat // and she gazes at me lovingly // the me she remembers." He adds: "It's hard. In no way do I want to glorify drug use. I want to make it clear that attempts to escape yourself leave you yearning for a former wholeness, always. The thing to remember is, your pain will continue to define you until you come to face with the reality of your own role in it.... And we're kind of at a handicap - the very American Dream is built on escape."
The sound of TAGABOW is defiant. In a world of automated scam calls and AI content optimized to keep us scrolling, LOTTO is the sound of four human musicians in a room. TAGABOW made their name approaching shoegaze with an experimental edge. Over the years, their extensive DIY touring has earned them a cult following, with fans driving hours for shows and sneaking cell-phone pictures of their pedal boards. Their live show incorporates EDM interludes, drawing on influences like '90s drum & bass and N64 soundtracks. They perform on the floor, purposely facing each other. No matter what chaos erupts in the mosh pit around them, TAGABOW looks inward. LOTTO is undoubtedly a live record on tape. A "touching of grass."
In writing LOTTO, Dulgarian challenged himself to put his guitar first. By abandoning digital technology and fully embracing the live-band format, LOTTO finds TAGABOW attempting to correct the course in a personal way. "In a world of perpetually increasing artifice, this record is my attempt to surface through the sea of false muck," says Dulgarian. "It's rife with perceivable mistakes, ebbing and flowing with the most humanity I can place on one record."

Lady Linn & Her Magnificent Seven share the third single The Night The Lights Went Out In Georgia of their upcoming album Midnight Sun, a tribute album to the night which will be released on October 17. The Night The Lights Went Out In Georgia was originally written by Bobby Russell and released by Vicki Lawrence in 1972. The single became a massive hit and reached #1 on the Billboard Hot 100 in the U.S.
Although the song sounds happy, it actually holds a strong political message as it was an indictment of the corrupt justice system in Georgia, USA. The song is told from the perspective of a woman and tells the story of her brother, who returns home and discovers that his wife might be cheating on him with his best friend, Andy. Drunk and angry, he goes to confront Andy. Later, Andy is found dead, and her brother is wrongfully convicted and hanged for the murder. Only at the end does the narrator reveal that she was the one who killed Andy (and also her brother's wife).
Lady Linn explains her love for this song: "The song's build up is so good, both musically as lyric wise. I got to know this song a long time ago when I was touring as a guest artist in a project called Murder Ballads."
The song is a perfect example of Lady Linn's new record Midnight Sun, which is a collection of 11 songs from a wide range of artists and genres that inspired her over time. "I only selected songs I have a real connection with, not because they happened to fit the theme of the album." Round Midnight, for instance, is one of the first jazz songs she got to know ("I even used it for an entrance examination once"), and Strangers In The Night reminds her of her grandfather, who introduced her to jazz music and often played the song on organ. An essential artist is Nina Simone, who's always been a big inspiration for Lady Linn. "She wrote Theme from Middle Of The Night for a movie and the lyrics are so beautiful: "to breakfast with the moon..." I like those old-fashioned, poetic lyrics." But the album is not only jazz standards. Lady Linn's love for 60s and 70s classic rock is also represented by The Eagles (One Of These Nights), JJ Cale (After Midnight) and Stevie Nicks (Nightbird). "
For Midnight Sun, Lady Linn once again assembled a group of exceptional musicians: Bart Van Caenegem on piano (De Frivole Framboos, Gwen Cresens Eclectica Quartet, Brussels Jazz Orchestra, High Voltage Sextet) , Filip Vandebril on double bass (Black Flower, Antwerp Gipsy Ska Orchestra, Kaaiman, Valerie Solanas, Andy & The Androids), Simon Segers on drums (De Beren Gieren, Black Flower, Sylvie Kreusch, Stadt), Yves Fernandez on trumpet (Monsieur Fernand, Hot Lips, Belle Perez, The Whodads, Admiral Freebee), Frederik Heirman on trombone (Brussels Jazz Orchestra, Lara Rosseel Orchestra, The Whodads, Hellfighter) and Marc De Maeseneer on baritone saxophone (Back Back, Admiral Freebee, The Whodads, Karen Willems Terre Sol 4, Madou). They took a whole year to let the music sink in, record rehearsals, evaluate them and jam together. Each member of the band had a big part in the making of the interpretations.

EEN AVOND VOL LIEFDE EN SOUL: OLIVIA DEAN OP 8 MEI IN BRUSSEL
Zet 8 mei 2026 in je agenda: dan kleurt Vorst Nationaal in de warme, gouden tinten van Olivia Dean. De Britse pop- en soul-sensatie, genomineerd voor de Mercury Prize en alom geprezen om haar ontwapenende authenticiteit, brengt haar langverwachte tour The Art of Loving Live naar Brussel.
Olivia Dean is niet zomaar een stem. Haar songs voelen als intieme dagboekbladzijden die tegelijk groot genoeg zijn om een zaal te laten dansen. Met Messy (2023) brak ze door tot de hoogste regionen van de UK Albums Chart (#4) en werd ze een vaste naam in de internationale popscene. Het leverde haar niet alleen een Mercury-nominatie op, maar ook een reputatie als een van de meest veelbelovende stemmen van haar generatie. Op 26 september 2025 verschijnt haar tweede album The Art of Loving bij Capitol Records - een nieuw hoofdstuk waarin ze liefde, zelfliefde en empowerment centraal zet.
Daarvan zijn al drie nummers te horen: het zachte maar krachtige "Lady Lady", het ontwapenend hoopvolle "Nice to Each Other" en de gloednieuwe single "Man I Need" - door Dean zelf omschreven als "direct, sexy en fun - gemaakt om op te dansen." Het is Olivia op haar meest zelfverzekerd: weten hoe je geliefd wilt worden en dat met trots uitdragen.
Op het podium gaat ze nog een stap verder. Haar stijl is net zo iconisch als haar stem: retro-chic jurken, een vleugje Motown-glamour en de nonchalante flair van een moderne soul queen. Vogue tipte haar al als stijlicoon, concertrecensies prijzen haar shows als "betoverend" en "sprankelend". Verwacht glinsterende lichtshows, intieme ballads die je stil doen vallen en groovy soulpop die je onvermijdelijk laat dansen. Ze transformeert elke zaal in een plek waar intimiteit en euforie elkaar ontmoeten - een avond waar je én kippenvel krijgt, én uit volle borst meezingt.
Haar opmars is niet te stoppen: onlangs opende Olivia Dean voor Sam Fender tijdens diens UK-headlinetour, met onder meer een show in het iconische London Stadium, een concert in Wythenshawe Park in Manchester en vanavond nog in Edinburgh op de Royal Highland Showgrounds. Daarnaast stond ze in juli naast Sabrina Carpenter tijdens haar BST Hyde Park-show, en in oktober en november trekt ze opnieuw met haar mee op tournee door de VS - inclusief vijf uitverkochte avonden in Madison Square Garden.
Met meer dan vijf miljoen maandelijkse luisteraars en honderden miljoenen streams is Olivia Dean uitgegroeid tot een van de meest meeslepende stemmen van de Britse pop en soul. In Brussel brengt ze het beste van haar debuut Messy, haar nieuwe werk The Art of Loving én de publieksfavorieten die haar liveconcerten steeds weer onvergetelijk maken.
