Indie rock titans and eight-time GRAMMY nominees Death Cab for Cutie – Benjamin Gibbard, Nicholas Harmer, Jason McGerr, Dave Depper and Zac Rae – recently announced their 11th studio album. I Built You A Tower, will be released on June 5 via ANTI- Records, and today the band shares the second single off of the forthcoming record. “Punching The Flowers,” out now, and is a gnarled angular rock song in which Gibbard spins a real-life experience of a toddler throwing a tantrum literally punching flowers outside a bodega into a metaphor for a man who has something beautiful and sees its hold over him as a cage, a frustration.

"’Punching the Flowers’ is a song about stagnation and the feeling of being imprisoned by The Known. And about the damage done when someone ventures deeper into the unknown,” explains Gibbard.

I Built You A Tower, out this Summer, marks the band’s return to their independent roots after 20 years on Atlantic Records. Produced and engineered by John Congleton and assembled from a mere three weeks of sessions, the album as recorded at Animal Rites in Los Angeles, as well as the band members’ homes in Seattle, Bellingham, Los Angeles and Portland.

In recent years, Death Cab celebrated several historic milestones, including massive sold-out tours celebrating the 20th anniversaries of seminal releases Transatlanticism and Plans. Those tours were pivotal to the creation of I Built You A Tower, as behind the scenes, Gibbard weathered the greatest pressure of his professional life — fronting both Death Cab and the Postal Service on arena stages for hours a night — while struggling with the collapse of his personal life in the background. The strain felt too much for one person to bear, and the “tower” originated as a way to protect himself. “There’s this need to find a place in ourselves to put loss and grief,” he explains. “A place that can hold it so we can move on with our lives. But there are these moments where the trauma breaks out of that shell we created for it.”

I Built You A Tower is an album of reconciling with past selves in order to locate a new future. “The anniversary tours exorcised any nostalgia in our systems,” Depper observes. “We felt part of this powerful force greater than all of us and went into the studio with a sense of, how can we capture that feeling and put it into something new?” Harmer continues, “The whole experience of this record got us back to the earliest versions of this band: If the musicians in the room like what we’re working on, that’s enough. We reconnected with the confidence that comes with that.” As such, this is not the dreaded “return to form” narrative, but a reclamation of a core ethos that has run through Death Cab’s 30-year history.

The band will be touring across Europe and the UK this September and October, with support from Pool Kids. hese performances come on the heels of a historic, sold-out global tour in marking the 20th anniversary of Transatlanticism plus their universally acclaimed 10th studio effort, 2022’s Asphalt Meadows.

Orange Warsaw Festival 2026 is coming! 29 – 30 May 2026 – Names

Dominic Fike joins the headliners of Orange Warsaw Festival 2026 with his first announced European show this year! May 29, Orange Stage! Completing the festival's 2026 line-up are Blood Orange, Loyle Carner, bbno$, Alessi Rose, Ganna, Sarah Julia, and a strong representation of the Polish scene: Pezet, Jan-rapowanie, Sokół, Kaz Bałagane, Kasia Lins, Livka and Daniel Godson.

Orange Warsaw Festival 2026 will take place on May 29-30 at Służewiec Race Track in Warsaw, Poland. Previously announced artists include Olivia Dean, Lewis Capaldi, FKA twigs, and TV Girl.

DOMINIC FIKE
Dominic Fine moves effortlessly between mellow, beach vibe that suddenly shoots into Frank Ocean-style emotional brokenness. His deeply human 2020 debut „What Could Possibly Go Wrong" (2020) and 2023 album „Sunburn" (2023) established him as an international phenomenon. His two most recent releases, „14 Minutes" (2024) and „Rocket" (2025), along with his role in „Euphoria", have taken his popularity to a whole new level - also breathing new life into earlier tracks like the viral „Babydoll". BLOOD ORANGE
Dev Hynes has had a monumental decade and his influence continues to reverberate throughout culture. As Blood Orange, the English musician, singer, and producer has released five albums to date - from the debut "Coastal Grooves" (2011), through the breakthrough "Cupid Deluxe" (2013) and "Freetown Sound" (2016), the acclaimed "Negro Swan" (2018), to last year's "Essex Honey", with appearances from the likes of Caroline Polachek, Lorde, Daniel Caesar, Brendan Yates of Turnstile, Ben Watt of Everything but the Girl, and Zadie Smith. Throughout his career, Hynes has also collaborated with icons such as FKA twigs, A$AP Rocky, Mac Miller, Solange, and Sky Ferreira. LOYLE CARNER
Loyle Carner is one the most important British artists of his generation. A musician, writer, director, producer, and actor, Loyle first emerged with 2013's „A Little Late" EP, and has since forged a signature blend of unflinching, diaristic lyricism with ambitious, genre-disruptive sounds. His debut album, „Yesterday's Gone" (2017), untangled personal experiences of grief, and the pressures of coming-of-age. The 2019 follow-up, „Not Waving, but Drowning", further showcased Loyle's ability to set lithe rap against old-soul wisdom. Having been twice shortlisted for the Mercury Prize - and scored further BRIT and NME Award nominations - Carner has since cultivated an impassioned worldwide following. His third album, „hugo" was a taut, textured exploration of Black identity and anger, which also landed Loyle Carner his second UK Top 3 album. Airkes Machine is het alter ego van drummer/toetsenist Micha Vandendriessche, (bij oa Gabriël Rios, Jasper Steverlinck, Thou, An Pierlé en Augustijn). Airkes Machine brengt muziek die dicht bij de mensen staat. Met eerlijke teksten, een aanstekelijke sound en een immer vrolijke noot weet hij alledaagse momenten te verheffen tot muziek die raakt. De Airkes Machine is het muzikale alter ego van de Belgische drummer/toetsenist Micha Vandendriessche, die zijn strepen verdiende bij artiesten als Gabriël Rios, Jasper Steverlinck, Thou, An Pierlé en Augustijn.
Wat begon in 2021 - jawel, midden in de coronaperiode - als een warm initiatief om mensen opnieuw samen te brengen en te laten zingen via "dorpelserenades", groeide al snel uit tot iets veel groter. Vandaag is de Airkes Machine een rijdend mini-volksfeest-on-the-go:nostalgisch, aanstekelijk en altijd middenin het publiek gepositioneerd.
Gewapend met zijn zelfgebouwde, mobiele installatie - de ondertussen legendarische Airkesmobiel - trekt Vandendriessche door straten, pleinen en festivals. Daarnaast verovert hij Vlaanderen met de jeugd- en familievoorstelling "Marc de Bel en de Airkesmachine" en organiseert hij samen met comedian Han Solo comedycafé's, waar hij voor de muzikale noot zorgt. 
In 2026 viert de Airkes Machine haar vijfjarig bestaan. En alsof dat nog niet genoeg reden is om te feesten, is er intussen ook eigen muziek: de gloednieuwe single 'Kleine Dingen'.

Genre: Nederlandstalige pop/kleinkunst/feelgood met een hoek af.  Vergelijkbaar met: Doe Maar, Superdiesel ...

"Lachen is goed, lachen is gezond. Lachen is het nieuwe verbond." In een tijd van polarisatie en luid geroep, kiest Airkes Machine voor de nuance. Met 'Kleine dingen' brengt hij een ode aan de banaliteit. Van een buur die zwaait of een mopje op straat tot een kermis met confetti in 't haar: dat is pas écht amusement, simpel maar waar. Het nummer vangt de essentie van het leven: verbinding. Jezelf kunnen zijn. Samen lachen. Want niets dat zo verbindend werkt als een lach. Van een steelse glimlach tot aanstekelijke schaterlach: het zou zomaar even kunnen dat je zonder het te beseffen iemands dag hebt gemaakt.

Het is bovenal een positief verhaal: over hoop, menselijkheid, en over hoe kleine dingen als een eenvoudige lach een wereld van verschil maken. Want "lachen is goed, lachen is gezond. Lachen is het nieuwe verbond."

Het lied is een mix van een vrolijke, uptempo sound met een licht melancholische ondertoon. Daardoor blijft het zowel op de achtergrond als tijdens een actieve luistersessie overeind.

Voor de videoclip van "Kleine dingen" werd gekozen voor een originele en warme insteek: een geënsceneerde vredesbetoging waarin kleine, menselijke momenten centraal staan. 
Samen met buurtbewoners en lokale figuranten ontstaat een spontaan en sociaal verhaal waarin een hele straat tot leven komt. Van kleine, onverwachte interacties tot puur enthousiasme en verwondering: de clip toont hoe eenvoudige gebaren mensen met elkaar verbinden.  De Airkes Machine speelt hierin een centrale rol en trekt met zijn opvallende verschijning en aanstekelijke muziek door de straat. Bewoners worden letterlijk uit hun huizen en dagelijkse bezigheden gelokt en sluiten zich gaandeweg aan bij een symbolische "betoging" die niet draait om protest, maar om positiviteit, verbondenheid en het delen van een lach.  De videoclip ademt volledig waar de Airkes Machine voor staat: verbinding, warmte en het sociale gebeuren. Het resultaat is een oprechte, opgewekte en gelukzalige sfeer waarin mensen elkaar vinden in de kracht van kleine momenten.
