Even voorstellen - Psych-folk band Midlake brengt op 7 november ‘A Bridge Too Far’ uit

Het is hun zesde studioalbum en hun meest emotioneel resonante werk tot nu toe. Geschreven en opgenomen in Denton, Texas met producer Sam Evian, verkent de plaat thema's als hoop, nederigheid en doorzettingsvermogen. Op de plaat wordt de cinematografische folkrock-sound van de band vermengd met hernieuwde helderheid en doelgerichtheid.

Het album laat de band in hun puurste vorm horen, waar ze zelf over vertellen: 
"We didn't overthink things." That ease translated into a sound both atmospheric and grounded - cinematic without excess, deeply felt without sentimentality. Lead single "The Ghouls," written during a period of uncertainty about the band's future, became a spark that encouraged the group to keep going. "It helped us build songs together again—and hopefully encourages others to want to hear the full collection."
