LAGOS, NIGERIA Globally acclaimed Afrobeat singer, songwriter, activist, and youngest son of Afrobeat pioneer Fela Kuti, Seun Kuti-alongside his legendary orchestra Egypt 80-has officially announced the release of their highly anticipated new studio album, Na Dem, arriving on November 6th.

Recorded across four continents and major global creative hubs-Lagos, Paris, Rio de Janeiro, London, and the United States-and produced by Femi Koleoso (bandleader of the Mercury Prize-winning jazz ensemble Ezra Collective), Na Dem represents a powerful sonic evolution. Building directly on the success and momentum of their previous discography, the record serves as a seamless continuation of Seun Kuti's artistic journey, while boldly expanding the horizons of modern Afrobeat.

A Sonic Resistance Against Modern Corruption
At its core, Na Dem is a fierce critique of contemporary political and social decay. The album calls out the corruption plaguing the modern world while delivering an urgent, empowering message: do not fall into the traps set by a broken system.
To convey this message, the album showcases the incredible versatility of Afrobeat, painting the genre with diverse musical shades-from hard-hitting, politically charged anthems to deeply personal, hopeful arrangements.
"We are living in times where corruption tries to define our reality. This album is a call to resist, to stay awake, and to hold onto humanity."
- Seun Kuti

A Multifaceted Tracklist Fueled by World-Class Collaborations
The six-track project serves as a masterclass in musical versatility, pushing the boundaries of Afrobeat through rich arrangements and high-profile international features. The album opens with "Adara," a deeply personal piece named after Seun Kuti's daughter, who delivers a touching intro to the track. Meaning "hope for a better day," the song provides a soulful, uplifting ray of light that sets an inspiring foundation. It is followed by "Real Life," which further explores the complex textures and reflective songwriting of the ensemble.
The record dives into explosive territory with "Problems," a powerful fusion featuring Jamaican reggae powerhouse Kabaka Pyramid, while the vibrant "DJB" showcases Egypt 80's legendary rhythm section at the peak of its powers. The album's centerpiece title track and lead single, "Na Dem," unleashes razor-sharp energy featuring signature guitar work from Rage Against the Machine's Tom Morello, before the record concludes with the compelling grooves of "As How.

Carrying the Flame: Egypt 80 and the Legacy of Fela Kuti
Born into musical revolution as the youngest son of Afrobeat founder Fela Anikulapo Kuti, Seun Kuti stepped up to lead Egypt 80 at just 14 years old following his father's passing in 1997.
While Egypt 80 proudly carries Fela's founding legacy, the ensemble has evolved far beyond its original boundaries. Today, Egypt 80 has transformed into a truly international collective of musicians hailing from around the globe, vividly embodying the African diaspora. This global identity is precisely why Na Dem became an international effort, recorded on the move across studios in Nigeria, Europe, South America, and the United States.
Performing alongside veterans who originally toured with Fela as well as new international talent, Seun Kuti continues to harness Afrobeat as an unapologetic weapon for social justice, truth, and liberation-solidifying his position as one of the most vital, fearless voices in contemporary global music.
Na Dem will be available on all major digital streaming platforms and digital stores on November 6th.
