Labelman presents Rosie Stuart - shares new single ‘Carpe Diem’
After winning De Nieuwe Lichting (Studio Brussel) and Sound Track (vi.be), a packed summer including festivals Rock Herk, Rijvers and Rock Zottegem, Rosie Stuart finally found some time to dive into the studio and record new music.

We’re happy to announce we’ll be releasing Rosie’s new EP early 2027 on LABELMAN!

The first single, ‘Carpe Diem’, is out

About ‘Carpe Diem’
With Carpe Diem, Rosie Stuart dives even deeper into the rawness of her sound.
At first listen, the track is a catchy, energetic rock song with an irresistible drive. Beneath that energy, however, lies something far more vulnerable.
The irony begins with the title itself. Carpe Diem: seize the day, enjoy life, move forward and do not worry too much. But behind that seemingly carefree message lies a song about insecurity, emotional distance and the feeling of being less than someone who appears to understand life much better than you do.
The song was born from a familiar but painful dynamic: no matter how much you give in a relationship - love, energy, understanding - the feeling can remain that you are the one falling short. Especially when the person in front of you does not seem to understand what you are feeling.

From that comes the central contrast of the song: He has everything. She feels everything.
He appears to move effortlessly through life: working, consuming, moving forward and avoiding difficult emotions. She, meanwhile, is left carrying everything that happens beneath the surface.
But Carpe Diem is ultimately not a simple accusation against an ex. The song asks a different question: what if the person who feels everything is not weaker, but actually richer?

About the video
A lavish dinner party takes a grotesque turn in Rosie Stuart’s latest music video, directed by filmmaker Lena Nerinckx. Amidst champagne, gelatin cakes and oysters, an extravagant feast descends into chaos, with none of the guests making it out alive.
The video transforms the dinner table into a decadent playground of excess, chaos and revenge.
At the centre of it all is Rosie Stuart as a larger-than-life oyster: seductive, strange and perhaps not entirely innocent.
The idea for the video was born from a rather personal experience.
During this year’s Gentse Feesten, Rosie and her band ate oysters before taking the stage at Walter De Buckplein. After the show, Rosie was immediately struck by violent vomiting, only to realise that she had been allergic to oysters her entire life. What began as an unfortunate evening became the seed for a twisted visual concept.
The result is a feverish, grotesque world where dinner etiquette goes out the window, oysters become instruments of revenge, and everyone is left to face the consequences of living by the motto: Carpe Diem.

Painfully playful, intimately loud, ugly yet beautiful, reluctantly shameless, thoughtfully direct, disruptively catchy, Rosie Stuart.
Rosie’s mind is always racing over the smallest details, yet when it comes to music, everything seems to flow with ease.
The Ghent-based  Rosie Stuart writes raw songs in stark contrasts: 100 percent black and white, with no room for gray. .
At times, her voice evokes her mother’s fearless je m’en foutisme - a trait she carried as a member of the Kortrijk cult band Midnight Men. Others hear shades of Sinéad O’Connor, PJ Harvey, or Patti Smith in Rosie’s striking delivery.

Together with her band, Rosie Stuart doesn’t just confront the crowd. They take on the walls around them, the world at large, and even themselves.
Rosie Stuart is one of the three winners of De Nieuwe Lichting ’26, the influential Belgian music competition by Studio Brussel.
