Recharged and looking sharply at a world gone sideways, Staines' finest Hard-Fi make their long-awaited return with brand new studio album Sweating Someone Else's Fever, their first in 15 years, out on June 19th via V2 Records.
Written and recorded throughout 2025 in their synonymous ex-taxi-office-turned studio Cherry Lips, and produced by frontman Richard Archer alongside longtime collaborator Wolsey White, the album looks outside the window to the fractured present, and paints it in bold musical strokes, with the same sharp-eyed social commentary that powered their classic debut Stars of CCTV, but with fresh perspective, new sounds and hard-earned freedom.
Named after an El Salvador saying about not fighting other people's ego-based battles, Sweating Someone Else's Fever represents Hard-Fi unburdened: playing together again, free from pressure, making music for the joy of it.
First single 'They Ain't Your Friends' arrives with suspicious swagger, directing its fire at the fake allegiances of the online world and the hypocrisies of the modern music industry. "At the beginning you could get out there and it was a meritocracy, whereas now it's basically back to patronage where you have to suck up to the guy who'll give you some money to write a waltz for his ball,"Archer explains. The track's birth, however, has a far sweeter story. An amalgamation of two old demos, Archer had left the music on his laptop until his tech-savvy 10-year-old son appeared one day, having found them and stitched them together. "They were in different tempos so a lot sounded like chaos, but every now and then it would be really cool. We did it all properly and suddenly it sounded really fresh. Now he's going, 'So where's my cut?!'" the frontman laughs.
Elsewhere on the record, guitars snarl on 'Looking For Fun', and 'You Rule My Heart', the latter being one of the most emotive songs Hard-Fi have ever written. 'Digo Nada' (Spanish for 'I Say Nothing') finds Archer bringing in his love of Cumbia music, recruiting UK-based Colombian rapper Mike Kalle for a Gorillaz-nodding moment of unexpected excitement. "My wife's from Central America and I got into Cumbia music because of Joe Strummer, then going out to El Salvador with her and hearing more tunes and getting into stuff like Andres Landero and Manu Chao - I liked it and it felt quite punk rock," he explains.
Olivier Award-nominated singer Krysten Cummings and long time collaborator lends guest vocals to 'You Rule My Heart' and 'A Rose Electric', adding a new dimension to Hard-Fi's sound. "It gave the tracks a different flavour that wasn't just lads and guitars,"Archer jokes. Social ire still simmers throughout. 'Don't Go Making Plans' and 'Ain't Going Out Tonight' capture a nightlife scene in retreat, while 'Humpback Whale' turns its gaze on technology and power: "AI could save lives, but unless the benefits are shared, it's going to be a nightmare," Archer warns
The album follows the band's reunion sparked during lockdown, when Archer livestreamed Stars of CCTV and was stunned by the warmth of the response. A comeback show at London's O2 Forum Kentish Town sold out in minutes, reminding the quartet why they started. From there came 2024's Don't Go Making Plans EP, and then, naturally, new music.
And with that, the band have also announced three huge headline dates in December - London, O2 Academy Brixton, O2 Institute Birmingham & O2 Ritz Manchester, seeing them back where they belong, on the country's biggest indoor stages

Geen "bathroom floor", wel een dance floor voor Kids With Buns! Het Belgische indiepopduo is terug met een nieuw album en dat stellen ze graag live voor. Op woensdag 9 december 2026 staan ze op het podium van Ancienne Belgique in Brussel. Tickets zijn beschikbaar via livenation.be en abconcerts.be.
Kids With Buns bestaat uit Amber Piddington en Marie Van Uytvanck. Na een indrukwekkend debuut met 'out of place', shows in iconische zalen zoals Ancienne Belgique, De Roma, De Vooruit en OLT Rivierenhof én een onvergetelijke passage in het VTM-programma 'Liefde Voor Muziek', brengen Kids With Buns later dit jaar hun langverwacht tweede album uit. Het duo begon nieuwe muziek te schrijven nadat ze allebei door een breakup gingen. Ze trokken naar Philadelphia om samen te werken met Jacob Blizard, oud-producer en gitarist van Boygenius-lid Lucy Dacus. Ze werden er closer dan ooit en schreven de songs als een manier om elkaar, en zichzelf, recht te houden. Geïnspireerd door een chaotische periode vol uitgaansnachten, maar ook verdriet, werd het resultaat niet alleen hun meest mature en diepgaande werk tot nu toe, maar ook hun meest groots-klinkende. Met mainstage-optredens op Belgische festivals, waaronder Pukkelpop, en shows in heel Europa, bewezen Kids With Buns hun ijzersterke livereputatie. De shows zijn tegelijkertijd eerlijke vertalingen van kwetsbare tracks en grootste ervaringen die elk publiek meekrijgen.

Odysseas ß, in het echte leven Ulysse Balthazar, is een nieuwkomer in de Belgische muziekscene. Hij is 21 jaar oud en komt uit Amay bij Luik. Hij begon een rapcollectief voordat hij zich begon te focussen op het maken van indie rock songs met punk invloeden en Franstalige teksten, met als referenties Saez, Les Bérus, Jacques Dutronc, Orelsan of Taxigirl.
Zijn universum is een mix van rock, rap en punk met poëtische verwijzingen vol puberale woede en melancholie. Odysseas ß is bedoeld voor mensen die nog niet hebben geleerd om te liegen.
Ulysse verlaat al vroeg school en leert zichzelf muziek maken via een rapcollectief. Zijn muziek is somber maar nooit deprimerend, zijn teksten zijn scherp geschreven en doorspekt met droge humor. Ulysse werd ontdekt tijdens een schrijfworkshop in de Daft Studio in Malmedy door Pierre Dumoulin (bekend van zijn band Roscoe en zijn vele samenwerkingen). Ulysse en Pierre besloten samen een EP te maken, waarvan Elephant de eerste single is. Deze single komt op 27 februari uit bij 62 records. Met Elephant levert Odysseas ß een rauw, krachtig nummer af dat het gevoel verkent te groot te zijn voor de wereld waarin hij leeft

Bonnie "Prince" Billy – the persona/stage-name of musician Will Oldham - will release his new studio recordWe Are Together Again this Friday March 6th and today shares the final pre-release single from the album: "Life is Scary Horses."
The song – which Oldham describes as a "spiritual cover" of the Sally Timms / Jon Langford composition "Horses" - comes accompanied by a video directed by filmmaker Braden King. Timms sings on the track and appears in the video.
Oldham says: "A primary reason to cover a song comes from the unanswered questions the song poses in our individual or collective psyches, and I have mulled "Horses"-generated questions over and over and over again in all sorts of circumstances until finally I thought I could bring those questions to life in a new composition, a new recording, of what can technically and essentially be called a new song."
King directed the video for Oldham's 2004 cover of "Horses" (from the album Greatest Palace Music) and the two have known each other even longer. Of the new work, King says: "This piece carries long memory. Will and I have been moving in and out of each other's orbits for over half my life - his friendship, collaboration and music - along with Sally Timms' own – are woven into me. Somehow, making this felt less like creating something new than uncovering something that had been waiting a long time to surface. It's a message assembled from fragments; landscapes and symbols gathered from a world that's slipping away and what remains when certainty is gone. As it evolved, the piece itself began to feel like a relic: an elegy left behind for a future that might not remember us – or maybe one that might be trying to learn who we were."
Oldham adds: "I have worked with Braden for a few decades now, our slow burns aligning just enough to remain aware that King is one of many life-saving flotation devices in human form that I am privileged to collaborate with."
In addition to Timms backing vocals, the track also features strings arranged by Oldham's cousin Ryder McNair and whistling by Thomas Deakin.
We Are Together Again - recorded at End of an Ear Studios in Louisville, Kentucky – is very much a collaborative album. Oldham says "As the first few songs from this record have trickled out (strategically), I'm struck by an overwhelming sense of gratitude towards many people and many circumstances. The people that built this beast with me, musically, are the finest to live among."

Almost exactly a year after the release of their full album Kinetic, Black Flower returns with Diagonal Walk, their first new material since touring across Europe with shows in Belgium, the Netherlands, Spain, France and Germany. Building on the momentum of their time on the road, the band now presents a first track that sketches out the musical direction further explored on their upcoming 3-track EP Motions.
Diagonal Walk had long been a fixture in the Black Flower live set, but had yet to be released. The track came together in a repurposed barn in the middle of nowhere, temporarily transformed into a makeshift studio that became both their think tank and playground. There, Karel's circling keyboard patterns, intertwined with a rhythmic foundation from Simon, formed a framework in which Nathan and Jon's horns could build the melodic narrative. Filip's Bass VI laid down a churning undercurrent, that drove the track's gradual ascent and underpinning its waves of energy, groove, and contrapuntal interplay, growing it into a six-minute, steadily unfolding trip.
Expanding on Black Flower's signature blend of Ethio-jazz, psychedelia and groove-driven improvisation, this latest release deepens the band's search for trance-inducing rhythms and rich harmonic layers while pushing their sound in a more exploratory and cinematic direction. The barn sessions proved catalytic, allowing the band to experiment freely, strengthen their play and develop motifs that now shape their forthcoming work.
Diagonal Walk is out today on all streaming platforms. The new EP Motions will be released on March 6, 2026 via Sdban Ultra.

Arriving just over a year after their last release, 'Fragile World' marks a striking shift in tone and energy for the band. Recorded live to tape in New Zealand by Paddy Hill, with production by Tom Healy (Tiny Ruins, The Chills, Folk Bitch Trio), 'Fragile World', captures The Veils in an urgent and instinctive mode.
As can be heard on the first single 'Lungs'' of which frontman Finn Andrews says: "I make each album, generally, as a kind of atonement for the last. Asphodels was so quiet and introspective, I think I just wanted to make something strident and full of life for a goddamn change. I wrote the lyric for this years ago, while I still lived in London and I still smoked fags."
The album's title is both a reflection of the present moment - a time in which many institutions appear to be crumbling before our eyes - and a metaphor for the act of creation itself. The process of making music, Andrews notes, is a delicate and fragile undertaking where thousands of small decisions gradually coalesce into a finished whole.
"We went into the studio with a lot of songs, but very little idea of the arrangements or instrumentation. It was truly exciting having no idea what this record would sound like and only a few weeks to figure it out. It's mostly Tom and I playing everything, with Joseph McCallum coming in at times. It was all very instinctual, quite full-on, and scary at times - but a good kind of scary, not scary like the real world out there."
With its immediacy, intensity, and emotional clarity, 'Fragile World' stands as one of The Veils' most compelling releases to date.

Even voorstellen – Mel D – shattered
BREKEN OM TERUG TE KUNNEN STAAN: MEL-D'S "SHATTERED"
Tussen de glitter en tranen, met één been op de dansvloer en het andere stevig op haar hart - ontpopt Mel-D zich tot een artieste met een popallure van groots formaat. "Shattered" - haar gloednieuwe single - gaat over een relatie die haar zelfbeeld langzaam doet wegglijden, en de pijnlijke maar noodzakelijke keuze om jezelf daarna terug te claimen. De nasleep van een verbinding waarin liefde, kritiek en subtiele vernedering door elkaar lopen. Een intieme binnenkamerbeleving waarin ze zichzelf en de tegenpartij scherpe maar ontwapenende vragen toewerpt...
Gaandeweg verandert de toon subtiel: wat eerst kwetsbaarheid en twijfel was, groeit uit tot zelfbewustzijn. De kern van Shattered ligt precies in dat kantelpunt - het moment waarop pijn plaats maakt voor daadkracht, vragen voor zelfbevestiging. De echte catharsis komt wanneer Mel-D de switch maakt van slachtoffer naar eigenaar van haar verhaal. "Today I found myself again / No more insecurities, no more pain" markeert een keerpunt - geen wraak, maar herstel; geen bitterheid, maar herwonnen kracht. Het terugkerende motief "The one you had shattered" verandert van aanklacht in triomf: wat ooit gebroken leek, staat sterker dan ooit. Die emotionele boog wordt muzikaal vertaald in een pulserende, typische pop-dance productie met een ietwat donkere, onderhuidse spanning.
Met Shattered verfijnt Mel-D haar signatuur: scherpe, eerlijke pop die zowel op de radio als in de buik landt. Een super toegankelijk nummer in het oor - mét een belangrijke, daadkrachtige boodschap.
Mel-D is een Belgische pop-dance artiest. In haar muziek combineert ze catchy popinstrumentals met een edgy attitude, waarbij persoonlijke verhalen over liefde, zelfvertrouwen en zelfontplooiing centraal staan. Kids With Buns is back! With two freshly broken hearts, they headed to Philadelphia to do what they do best: write it all down. The result: the new single "blind," because the best songs are written when everything collapses.
After Amber and Marie (coincidentally) ended long-term relationships at the same time, they started working on a new album in the US with producer Jacob Blizard (Lucy Dacus, also known from boygenius). With "blind," Kids With Buns open the door to a sound that knows even fewer boundaries than before: because in KWB 2.0, anything is possible. Their signature catchy hooks and guitar riffs sound more international than ever, with boygenius-esque vocal harmonies and lyrics you'll want (and need) to read twice. In the song, they reflect on their first true love and the moment that illusion is shattered, with the realization that staying in a relationship sometimes destroys more than letting go of it.
The long-awaited second album will follow in the fall. More about Kids With Buns
It's been six years since Marie Van Uytvanck and Amber Piddington first shared a stage together during the 2019 Sound Track preliminaries. What initially had been intended as a temporary solution (Marie's guitarist had called in sick) worked out so well that the two of them decided to form the band Kids With Buns, after the Gorillaz song 'Kids with Guns'. The music they made together - wistful bedroom pop songs about matters of the heart - caught on. First singles "1712" and "Bad Grades" quickly gained traction, in January 2021 they won Studio Brussel's talent competition De Nieuwe Lichting. In the meantime they released their debut album "Out of Place" and did an excessive tour, both domestic and international. To top it off they also participated to popular television programs such as VTM's 'Liefde Voor Muziek' and VRT 1 'Ik Vraag het Aan'.

Following the hypnotic first single 'Mooning', Belgian producer and composer Dijf Sanders presents 'Mountain On The Hill', released today. The track offers a second glimpse into 'Tangkoa II', his upcoming album set for release on May 8.
'Mountain On The Hill' quickly draws attention with the melodic saxophone of Viktor Perdieus, which threads its way through the piece and gives the track its distinct character. Around it, Sanders builds a steady groove shaped by Simon Segers' driving drums and field recordings collected during his travels in Vietnam.
Organic sounds and electronic processing move side by side, creating a rhythm that feels physical and fluid rather than programmed. Details gradually surface as the track unfolds, culminating in a Vietnamese vocal appearing near the end, a brief but striking moment that connects the music back to its source.
In the lead-up to the album release, Sanders has also introduced 'Tangkoa II' through a series of hidden test pressings. Last weekend, a first copy featuring unique artwork by Arthur Devisscher was secretly placed somewhere in the city of Ghent. Additional copies will appear in the coming weeks in other Belgian cities, including Antwerp and Brussels, with fans encouraged to keep an eye on Sanders' social channels for clues.
With 'Mountain On The Hill', Dijf Sanders continues to reveal the world of 'Tangkoa II': rhythm-driven electronic music shaped by live interaction, acoustic elements, and sounds gathered along the way.

In January 2025 - moments after completing his latest work - Wouter Dewit had to let go of nearly everything. The album Hold marked the end of a trilogy that began with Still (2017) and Here (2019). A single fifty-minute composition, the piece had taken almost five years to complete - worked on on and off, in between composing for film and releasing two solo EPs. It was meant to be his magnum opus.
Hold was released in March 2025, but the accompanying release shows were cancelled. Ironically, Wouter Dewit had to let go of Hold itself. Unmanaged fear and a destructive desire to control - long believed to be sources of creativity - along with personal turmoil, shifted everything. Music didn't become a place of refuge in the darkest of times. Dewit didn't touch the piano for months.
Slowly recovering, he began playing again in October 2025, searching for different sources of inspiration. Where Hold represented the culmination of composition, with expansive string arrangements and electronics, what emerged now was a simple melody.
He reached out to Pieter Van Dessel (Marble Sounds), who accepted the invitation to produce, gathered his musicians, and began making plans to return to the stage. This March marks the release of Everything Simply Began. Live, Wouter Dewit will—after nearly six years—perform with strings again, revisiting the entire trilogy and beyond.

Het is een grote dag voor zangeres Yebba. Vandaag verschijnt haar langverwachte tweede album 'Jean' én kondigt ze een nieuwe tour aan. Goed nieuws voor België, want voor het eerst komt ze naar ons land. Op zaterdag 5 september 2026 staat Yebba in Ancienne Belgique in Brussel. Dé kans om een van de meest indrukwekkende stemmen binnen de hedendaagse soul live te beleven.
Yebba, geboren als Abigail Elizabeth Smith in West Memphis (Arkansas), groeide op met gospel en zong als kind in de kerk van haar vader. Die spirituele roots vormen nog steeds het kloppend hart van haar muziek. Met haar krachtige, emotioneel geladen stem weet ze moeiteloos vuur en kwetsbaarheid te combineren. Ze werd bij het grote publiek bekend via haar YouTube-kanaal en haar opvallende passage in Saturday Night Live naast Chance the Rapper. Zo maakte ze al snel naam als een buitengewone zangeres. Haar samenwerkingen met artiesten als Ed Sheeran, Sam Smith, Mark Ronson, Drake en A$AP Rocky bewijzen haar zeldzame talent om genres als R&B, soul en pop moeiteloos te overstijgen. Haar debuutalbum 'Dawn' (2021) bevestigde die status: een bezielde plaat waarop ze rouw en kwetsbaarheid omzette in aangrijpende melodieën. Yebba won een Grammy Award voor haar samenwerking met PJ Morton en ontpopte zich tot een van de meest fijngevoelige songwriters van haar generatie. Vandaag onthult ze 'Jean', een album opgedragen aan haar overleden grootmoeder. Deze tweede plaat, met de recent verschenen "Yellow Eyes", werd geproduceerd door haarzelf en John Rooney. Even voorstellen - Valerie and the rain, debuut ‘your name’
Valerie and the rain is het muzikale universum van componist en singer-songwriter Valerie Van Roey. Haar muziek is een gevoelige mix van folk, klassieke compositie en hedendaagse muziek. Geïnspireerd door artiesten als Joni Mitchell, Linda Perhacs en Vashti Bunyan schrijft ze intieme songs met een puur en verhalend karakter.
Haar liefde voor muziek begon al op jonge leeftijd. Dankzij haar vader, een gepassioneerde muziekliefhebber, groeide ze onder andere op met de muziek van Arvo Pärt en Bach. Ze studeerde vervolgens ook compositie aan het Conservatorium van Antwerpen en Gent. Later ontdekte en ontmoette ze Christian Wallumrød en Arve Henriksen, muzikanten die haar erg inspireerden en ook folk en een hedendaagse sound met elkaar verweven.
Op haar twintigste ondernam Valerie een reis die haar leven veranderde. Ze nam een sabbatjaar, liet het conservatorium in Antwerpen even achter zich en dook de wereld in. Al liftend legde ze 6000 km af doorheen Canada. Van Vancouver naar Toronto, over de enige highway die het hele land doorkruist. De reis was gebaseerd op een innerlijke houding van vertrouwen in de mensen en het leven. Gedurende deze weken werd Valerie verrast door de liefde, gastvrijheid en schoonheid van het innerlijke van de mensen op haar pad. Tijdens de reis kocht ze haar eerste gitaar in Thunder Bay en schreef ze vervolgens de song 'Canada', na bijzondere ontmoetingen met de vrijgevige mensen van Canada en muzikanten op het folkfestival van Winnipeg. De reis vormt de basis van wie Valerie is als songwriter. 'Canada' was het begin van vele songs die zouden volgen. Op 12 februari 2026 verscheen 'Canada' als vooruitgeschoven single van haar debuutalbum 'Your Name', uit op 5 maart via Mokuhi Sonorities, het label van Nicolas Rombouts.
Valerie is steeds erg gefascineerd geweest door zingen. Haar stem klinkt bijzonder eigen en krachtig door haar diepe toewijding aan het zingen, jarenlang improviseren met haar stem en ook de grote passie voor traditionele Iraanse zang. Ze volgde lessen bij o.a. Mahsa Vahdat en Rahele Barzegari, waar ze geïnspireerd werd door de fijngevoelige wereld van de Perzische melodieën.(met quarter tones). Deze invloeden geven haar zangstem en songs een unieke kleur.
Valerie ziet een song als een “micro universe” waarin ze je uitnodigt om mee te reizen in een ruimte van verrassende klankkleuren. Het medium song is voor haar het favoriete en eenvoudige voertuig om haar liefde voor zang en compositie met haar luisteraars te delen.
Na jaren te hebben geschreven en gespeeld met muzikanten als Ruben Machtelinckx, Thomas Jillings en Nicolas Mortelmans, heeft ze in de zomer van 2024 haar debuutalbum opgenomen. Samen met Felix Machtelinckx (Tin Fingers) die haar muzikale visie als producer volledig omarmde, hebben ze op 7 dagen tijd, in een stenen cabane in de bergen van Zuid-Frankrijk, een intiem album gemaakt.. Het resultaat is een debuutplaat die haar klassieke opleiding verweeft met haar liefde voor zang, storytelling en folk.
